my wife and i saw dave last night in PA, and what the hell!! who are these people? where did they come from? i have never seen a more angry, negative, disrespectful, bunch of drunken frat boy/ sorority girl infantile morons in all of my life! they were violent, ignorant and had no regard even for each other. do they even listen to what is being said in the music and on the stage? "take care of each other and look out for one another'? is anyone paying attenttion?
i mean don't get me wrong, the show was excellent. the band just gets better. but what of these people?
have you noticed this? i guess they have been showing up at shows more and more over the years, but the audience was completely dominated by these twits.
i can't wait for the allmans. maybe that will be better. at least you know what to expect from bikers. and these kids make them seem like saints!

Yea I went two years ago, parking lot party was fun. Once I was waiting in line and people started chucking beer bottles into the air I was pretty much done with the show already. Pretty unenjoyable for me, no groove with the crowd - like you said just wasted frat boys. Went to Phil Lesh Monday at the same venue and it literally couldn't have been more different, no one even bumps into each other dancing cause everyone's just on the same wavelength.

i have been going to dave shows for years~like from the way beginning, and i sadly admit that there has been a steady increase in these drunken meatheads. i seriously dont understand it. i am a huge dmb fan, mark only started going when we met, and it is a sad sad situation. if you listen to what dave says in his lyrics, and between songs~~these drunken dudes are NOT listening...i wonder what dave matthews and the band think about this?

and why has a sweet crowd remained faithful to bands like the dead, and lesh and friends, and not to dave?

this is really eating at me.

Wow im glad someone else has noticed this! I was at Dave @ alpine valley and it was such bad vibes. There was group of "fun-boys" next to us during the show and one of the frat boys decided to pick a fight with his girlfriend calling her a slut and a whore and pushes her so hard she falls to the ground and then he drew a fist. No one even said anything until one of the guys i was with stepped in to chill this nut job out. I was very sad with the atmosphere at Dave is this what its coming to?

Interesting. I've heard of Dave Matthews, and I think there's maybe one song I would recognize by him. I also have a ticket for an upcoming show. A friend at work warned me to expect the worst "high school kids" that the American suburbs can spew. But one of our family is a DMB fan, so I'm going along. I'll report back in a few weeks :)

Hey I was at that show too! It was a good crowd where I was sitting, which was in the mid left lawn, if you are looking at the stage.

yea i went to see dave this year, at tweeter in camden. i dont even really like dave's music but like half my school was there so i went along...there were half full bottles of so co and captain morgan lining the parking lots, chicks passing out and throwing up, drunk dudes climbing on cars in their boxers, and way too many nitrous tanks in the lots...

that was probably my first and last dave show. i like the heady scene with good peole and good vibes, if i wanted that i would go to a frat party..
