is an excellent combination. too bad it's early in the day and i have to go to work in a couple hours...... still have half a bottle from last night....and two beers....
yea i love drinking red wine while tokin, it's the perfect combination. and im not particular, i'll drink some jug wine and burn a few joints and it's all good to me... although a nice bordeaux or italian chianti is nice, as long as i am not paying..
well, i know a thing or two about getting good beers, but i've been drinking a lot of beer lately and it gets pretty pricey if you dont settle for less than great. i dont know much of anything about wine (though i'm learning a little bit of the very basic aspects of it) and thought i'd go out and try some wines and see what i like....figured since i don't know as much about wine, i wouldn't feel so bad about trying cheaper wines....hell, i'm not paying 30 bucks for a bottle of wine i've never had before... last night i got a rather cheap bottle (10 bucks) of pinot noir - i wanted this style specifically because it was one of the few types of wine i've had in the past that i really, really liked (as opposed to cabernet sauvignon, which i've had a very cheap version of once and got very sick from, or merlot, which i've had mixed feelings about...some is great, some is awful) it was called gala rouge, and despite the trendy looking label (far from your typical import wine label, it looks like a vintage poster advertisement) it was actually pretty decent. i mean, you can tell its not a more pricey bottle, but for 10 bucks it was pretty damn tasty. a nice, tart, red cherry element was strong, and it was not too sweet or too dry for my liking. went passably well with a good cigar (better than most beers will, anyway) and the rich flavors defenitely complemented my nugs well.... i sometimes think that liquor and cigars are the perfect match but that wine and bud or beer and bud is a great combination, too....
you can get some pretty decent wine for under 20 bucks....if you and one other person each chip in 8 dollars you can definitely split a bottle of reasonably good wine, even if the snobbiest of coinnesseurs wouldnt likely buy it....from a financial perspective that would be no different than buying an 8 dollar bottle of wine and splitting it with someone, except you can get a better bottle...
Nope Bob Marley def. never did that song.. and as a rasta in his later years I dont think he drank either.
i dunno.. im not a big red wine fan myself.. i much rather have a bottle of white.. and that goes great with weed
hmmm....well, i finished a bit less than half a bottle tonight, and now i'm on my second beer after that....well, beer is good, and this is good beer, but honestly i WOULD rather have more wine, instead.... nice and stoned on some borderline beasters/nugs
I like red wine, but I can't drink too much of it or I will get dizzy, especially if I start smoking.
i used to get that way with wine in particular, but with drinking in general. i still do to an extent, but it depends on how much i drink and smoke, really. at first drinking and smoking together, even in small amounts, could get me violently ill. now it's one of my favorite combinations, though, and i almost never become uncomfortable as a result of mixing the two. its been a while since i really enjoyed wine, and i'm just now learning a little bit more than "red" and "white" wine, though i dont know THAT much more than that....but i'm liking this whole wine business.....i can see why a lot of people like it better than beer, even though really good beers are every bit as good as good wines, just in a different way....
Oh wow I *just* came upon this realization a few days ago. I decided that with the gigantic following of wine and people dedicating their lives to the substance, there must be something to it. So, within the past few weeks I've purchased four different bottles of wine. I work at a bookstore, so I just looked at some wine magazines and wrote down some wines that got good rankings - I HIGHLY recommend this. I've drunk two and have two more sitting in our cellar, though the first two were fabulous. The first one was "La Vieille Ferme,"(French red from the Rhone valley - $9.99) which was every bit as good as the mag said it was. The second, "Smoking Loon,"(California Syrah - $8.99) which was not quite as good as the French one but still very tasty. There are definitely some fantastic wines out there for less than $10, you just have to look. Now that I fully understand the difference between a wine drunkiness and a beer or hard liquor drunkiness, I theorized smoking a J with a glass of wine would probably be perfect. I was going to try it out this weekend, but all I have is a Rose and a Riesling, neither of which are Red, Red, wine, heh. Looks like I just might hafta pick up another bottle of La Vieille Ferme, shucks! Salud!
la vieille ferme is really as good as they say? i'll have to try it, i was already considering it....i saw that mentioned a few places when i was looking online to try to find info on good but inexpensive wines....
