We are entering dark times in this world. We have already begun to enter these dark times, but things are going to become a lot darker, and it probably isn't as far away as you might think. Why do so few people see this, and why do so many people choose not to care? With the way people are spoonfed lies and half-truths by the corporate, mainstream, Murdoch media, it comes as no surprise to me that people are as blind and grossly uninformed as they are. It seems that most people in America would rather watch "Survivor" or "Outback Jack" than enlighten themselves to the corruption that surrounds them, and is threatening to take away their freedoms. Television and materialism, among other things, has everyone doped and complacent, and totally unwilling to think outside of the box, granted that box covers no more than what Michael Moore presents. We have the government, made up of criminals and crooks, telling us that al-Qaeda wants to attack us in the months leading up to elections. Right now, the US government is gauging for an attack to possibly coincide with war criminal George Bush's speech at the Republican National Convention on September 2nd (less than a month away). Basically, they are telling us we are definitely going to be attacked again (whether sooner or later), and to prepare ourselves. The government knows something we don't know, as did they in the months, if not years, leading up to the attacks on 9/11. Many people do not understand how the government benefits from these so-called "terrorist attacks," and they should. These events (and the threat of them) instill fear in people. The government wants us to be fearful because it will cause us to accept things that we would normally not accept. Do you think the "Patriot Act" would have been tolerated had we not been attacked in September of 2001? You can guarantee that if we are "attacked" again - whether by al-Qaeda or the terrorists within our own government - we will see something much worse than the Patriot Act enacted. We will probably see martial law enacted, essentially taking our constitution and ripping it to shreds. This is some scary shit, and it's a lot more real than it sounds. What I am talking about now could become a reality soon - very soon. This is what the government wants. The government wants to instill fear in us, which will make us more accepting of the full-on police state this country will soon be under. The government wants FULL CONTROL over the people. This is only the first step in the creation of the one-world government these fascist, blood-thirsty, power-hungry pigs are seeking. If you think I am spouting off a bunch of conspiracy theororist, nonsensical psychobabble, then educate yourselves. Read! The more prepared you are, the better off you will be when the shit hits the fan. Because if it doesn't happen soon, it will happen within the next five or ten years. People need to wake up and realize that things go much more beyond simply Republican and Democrat, and George Bush and John Kerry (these people are only figureheads for the globalists anyway). Both mainstream parties are equally dangerous and are ultimately seeking the same goal, whether you choose to believe that or not. BOTH parties are bound by the corporations which essentially own and control this nation. Corporations mean far more to the power-hungy elite, which is the US goverment, than the people do. To the government, we are nothing more than a bunch of dog turds. John Kerry and George Bush are two of the same, and both should be feared equally. Both are multi-millionaire, blue-blooded, power-hungry men who were part of the same secret, elite society, which is who put these idiots where they are right now. They also have an almost identical foreign policy. Why won't anyone besides a small minority of people admit that we don't have a choice in this country, and that our lives are in the hands of the man? Why are people such apathetic sheep when it comes to something so important? While there is probably not a whole lot you can do, being informed won't hurt.
Wow. That was deep. Nothing I didnt already know but the way you presented it sent a few chills down my spine. It is scary. It really is..... but how do you wake americans up? You cant really.... you can try- but it can't be done at this point unless something BIG happenes.
While I agree that the state of the world and the United States is rather dire now, I am not so sure that it hasn't been worse, or nearly as bad, in the past. I'm sure the presidency of Nixon, for example, was in the same realm of shadiness as Bush. I think the increased threat is for nuclear attack, whether it be on a large scale or through smaller terrorist actions. There are so many unaccounted for nukes in the world that it seems absolutely certain that one will be used at some point in the not too distant future, that scares me the most.
I disagree. You have to look at things in terms of what we don't necessarily see. What we don't see are the globalists and the power-elite, who are ultimately the ones running things (not the president, as most think). The globalist connection is stronger now than it has ever been, and it will continue as we head further and further down the road of capitalism. Again, the presidents of this country are nothing more than puppets. Things go MUCH deeper than George Bush, who is nothing more than a figurehead propped-up and put into power by people far more powerful and dangerous than Bush himself. And if you think about it, the problems we face now are nothing like what we faced in the past.
It really is unfortunate that most of that is true. Americans dont like to face the facts. I usually lecture someone I know personally every day about things like this and they all seem to never change their mind or fall victims to the propaganda which is so obviously fake. Everyone thinks kerry is a bad person because he supposedly lied about his purple hearts. Either way even if he did lie, most polticians do. Atleast kerry didnt get his military records destroyed. Of course alot did in that time period, but with no reason. When searching for back ups of bush's, they too mysteriously disapeared. No one cares about that though because it isnt always on the news. People get so sucked into the news to never do any other sort of research or have any of their own opinions. Whoever controls the media controls the mind. I think john lennon said that. I really dont want to sound harsh, hypocritical, or evil. These hard times and potential for nuclear warfare will bring on a sense better times. This could be the chance that the world, or atleast the united states, needs to bring back the wanting of peace and in a sense "hippy era". This war is inevitable. It has started, it will continue. It will get worse as we can already see. Anymore electing a "better" president, aka kerry wont change anything. A new man in power wont sway the entire government or this war. Certain things cant be stopped. We cant just pull the troops out. Its time to stop trying to change the government but time to start making the people aware. There are more civilians than there are government. If the majority stops tuning in to the propaganda machine news and starts realizing things on their own the USA and the world itself will be alot better place to leave. Im really tired, sorry if that is confusing. Or sounds completely out there.
Hello, the past 1000-2000 years or so have been dark times, this world is hell, but if your good maybe you can be reborn into a better one if you believe in that kinda thing.
While I agree that globalization has increased in the recent decade, I think that the US people have always been puppets. Now terrorism is the big threat, while when our parents were growing up it was the Russians, and they had all of those duck and cover drills and bomb shelters. The government has always used fear and paranoia to drive its citizens into a patriotic frenzy. iknow it goes deeper than Bush, it goes deeper than any common citizen could figure out on thier own. Its hard to say rat, but i totally agree that these times are extremely dangerous. Ever since i was a little kid I've had the feeling that I would witness a giant turning point or disaster in the world, and it seems to be happening right on cue.
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution Take a bow for the new revolution Smile and grin at the change all around Pick up my guitar and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray...
While both men would serve as a figure-head and pupet I don't believe that they are both equally destructive or evil. If a terrorist act is committed at the republicanconvention it would still not make a difference on public party preference. The left would use it as a clear message from other nations of how they view our current president and the right would see it as ammunition to continue 'the war on terror'. While both parties are equally close minded both are not recieving terroist threats which proves that the outside world does not see them as moral equals.
Most of these fears/likelyhoods seem reasonable to me outside of the issue of Marshall Law. While big business and money can control many things, I honestly don't feel that a state of marshall law is possible as it would take people to enforce this. As it is the security forces in the US whether internal (police) or external (armies) lack the man power are undermanned in trying to control our nation and the world at the level that they are currently being directed too. Using fear to influence behaviors is a pretty common tactic. If you think about it, the fear that the government instills on the people in terms of terrorism threats etc, is not so different from the tortures that this same government authorized in Iraq. However, there is only so much fear/pain people will take before they go into defense mode. While I do have very little faith in our government at times, I do have enough faith in 'my fellow citizens' only to tolerate so much. It could turn out ugly, but in the end I still believe majority rules and I have confidence that the majority would not tolerate a Brave New World. Like you said though Matt, all people really can do is educate themselves, do what they can to educate others, wait and hope for the best when the shit does hit the fan.
Way to change the subject lynsey :H But I like it. If impending doom is all that's left to look forward too, we all better get in as much sex as we possibly can before time runs out. Come on my hippy brothers and sisters - let us start 'Love In 2004'
As frequently happens, you have expressed things that I think about, but expressed it much better than I ever could. Reading that definitely gave me an extremely nauseous feeling. I can't even bear to think about it, which is probably why most people delude themselves into thinking that it could never happen.
hey, hey there- lets not go around loving eveyone here! no but in all seriousness smart men have a tendencey to turn me on...plus I am a little (just a little) drunk.
Haha. Go Ryan! (and go lynsay!) I think the turning point you mentioned is going to be the environment. I'm pretty confident that unless there is a rapid drastic change in our collective attitudes, the earth will not be able to sustain us for more than a couple more generations at most. Humans may survive, but the catastrophe will be almost unimaginable.
yes bigs brains are about the only thing that do it for me. A guy with big shoulders and a big brain is all I require.
