Im planning on spending a week or two there soon, and just wondered if anyone here had been there, and what they had to say about it.

I went two years ago and loved it. My borther and i went for 4 days and hardly saw anyone the whole time. We packed a bit heavy so we had to stay close to the ferry port the firt night, but then ate like kings to lighten our packs and went over the hills to the far side of the island. It was remote enough to make a fire there, even though they aren't permitted.

The water was cold but so refreshing to get into during the day, and made good drinking water when filtered.

We went on lots of days hikes and saw a moose, beavers making a dam, etc.

It was a great trip. the island has very diverse settings...from rocky hills to fields of balckberries.

Spent about ten days on the island. Hiked from almost the far east side all the way back to the west.

Had a great time and the weather was pretty good. Saw lots of moose but never of the famed wolves...

Spent a week there. Very beautiful, and very remote. The land is almost completely untouched, and you can hike for days in some areas without seeing another human being.
