I'm not a bodybuilder, but I run, cycle and do weights and pushups to stay in shape.

I suppose if your gonna be bodybuilding your gonna need a whole loada protien. Even the omnivorous bodybuilders drink protein shakes don't they? So start loading up on the tofu, kidney beans and sunflower seeds!

Meat putrifies in the digestive system so in theory your body would end up assmilating more protien from plant sources.

NBA Legend Bill Walton was a vegetarian and he was one h*ll of a ballplayer.

errm, did you mean Brendan Brazier?

Brendan Fraser is the actor from Encino Man & The Mummy. But Brendan Brazier is a vegan Ironman Triathlete. Though I've gotta admit... they're both pretty hot!
    love,

Go to PETA's Lettuce Ladies website and check out the "Broccoli Boys". There's a couple vegetarian/vegan body builders in there.

i am a vegan and this year i've found it to be easier to build strength rather than muscle mass, although i have built muscle mass. i have been focusing more on strength as opposed to mass, which is a big part of it, but i haven't changed my method from last year enough to have such a change. i'd say focus on strength anyway, more important than having big muscles ;)

I used to body build and currently getting back into it. Now that I am a veggie, I find that I actually gain muscle faster by changing my routine. Instead of doing fast movements I slow them way down. Four seconds in each direction. Once you can do about 14 I slow it down again to 10 seconds in each direction. Now on the eatting portion I take in allot more calories then I normally would. I eat around 2800 cals a day.....eatting beans and rice help allot with the calories and the protein intake. Here is a website specifically for the veggie body builder.

simi-scary.... I was wondering this same thing a few days ago. If you lack protein can you build muscle? Most veg's are super thin and not very muscular (maybe it's a stereotype... but, just what I was thinking)
