i was recently put on probation for reasons that are my own and had to give up using all drugs and even tho i thought it would suck i have to say sobriety isnt so horrible ive realized that theres more to life than just constant partying and intoxication it gave me a chance to clear my head and take a long look at my life and now i understand the idea that most of the wise ppl on this forum have been preaching. that drugs are meant to be used as an introspective and philosophical tool not just to get fucked up. ever since ive given them up ive noticed that a lot of my depression and anxiety has gone away. i think this is b/c when i used to smoke pot everyday and constantly run various chemicals through my body i was severly fucking up my brain chemistry.ive discovered that i like being sober i dont need drugs as a crutch to make me feel good ive got all i need for happiness inside me already. now this doesnt mean ill never get high again ,but it means i have a newfound respect and appreciation for enthobotanicals that ive never had. keep in mind that i say enthobotanicals not drugs, b/c another thing ive come to understand is that of all the drugs ive done the ones that caused me the most problems are the manmade kind, including alcohol these substances are used to kill pain and coincedentally thought proccess. also when i was drinking and doing coke, pills etc. i rarely thought about anything except how to get more. drugs like shrooms peyote and pot never had a grip on me like the other drugs out there. they helped me to look at the world in a new perspective and appreciate the fact that i was given the amazing miracle of life and all the beautiful things that came with it, but these substances as wonderful as they are need to be respected not abused. they are powerful tools which can help u look deep inside yourself for new understanding, but if used for the wrong reasons or too often they will give u negative consequences. some of which can be severe.so my message to everyone is to respect these divine substances. they are a gift from god that and everytime u abuse them u only further justify the reasons why many of them are illegal. peace.
I understand where your coming from but drugs help make life better. Life has always been alright being sober but when you mix it up a little with drugs or alcohol life is ten times better. But at the end of the day, life just sucks period with or without drugs.
life is far too complex and biased to consider it either shitty or wonderful its just that your attitude that leads you to believe it does the only word that can describe life is "life". and as far as "drugs make life better" this is true if they are used respectfully and if you disagree try smoking crack and shooting heroine every day for a year and then tell me what your life is like.
whynot i agree, and am glad youve come to realise as youll probably have a much better life from now on.
