I live outside of the city...there are cattle farms all around the town I live in... If anyone thinks they can help please tell me. I'm sick of paying my money for a trip I could get for free.

If you know for sure what they look like, I'd say its worth a try. Just make sure you know which ones are the good ones. The best time i heard to look is after a rainstorm

doubt it. unless your from small town no where michigan, chances are the cow feed will be laced with some sort of fungicide that is common place on many of the larger cattle farms. it's not a requirement by law YET to have these fungicides put in your cow feed, but many producers are doing this to stem the shroom pickers ability to find shrooms...and the fact that mushrooms break down cow patties at a faster rate than if they were just sitting in the middle of a field... if the farmer wants to use those patties as fertilizer he's gonna want them fresh as opposed to half broken down already.\

if you do go shroom picking remember to shake the mushrooms over ht pattie you picked it off and other patties to spread the pores and help keep an abundant supply of the shroomies...also know what your looking for...don't just eat a random mushroom without finding out for sure what it is.

yeah, after rainstorms are definetly the best time for shrooming and going really really early in the morning. Have fun and don't forget to bring a flashlight.

Girmreefer, please don't go picking and eating wild shrooms, very subtle differences in apperance can mean the difference between poisonous and trippy shrooms. At the very least pick up a book on mycology before you try anything new.
