acoustic bass artists

    i've been messing around on an acoustic bass and writing a few songs, i'm thinkin of putting them on the internet, i'd have to record them first but i was wondering if there was anyother acoustic bass solo artists if they had tips about, well anything to do with writing and performing on ac. bass

    Are you talking about upright bass or acoustic bass guitar?
    I know of artists on both.

    Both are cool, but uprights are just simply the shit. I don't really have any advice, sorry. Play your ass off though.

    The only rock acoustic bassist I know is Brian Ritchie of the Violent Femmes. But he plays a badass bass. He's easily the busiest member of the band, tons of solos, and some great bass lines.

    Yes, upright bass is awesome, but expensive. Acoustic bass guitar sounds cool, also. Especially Brian's, it has this kickass grunty sound.
