Nederland Music and Arts Fair, hands down. wedged between a reservoir and the continental divide at 85oo ft, three days this year, after hours jams all over town, some camping in the surrounding forest, but rooms are gone within weeks of the line up announcement. I've painted, vended and been overnight security (read sleep in the van in a main entrance: no hotel needed) the local internet provider and web designers http://www.planetmind.net/ have their solar rig out there with a laptop on wifi. It's an all wind and solar powered biz! Nederland itself is a cool town with a co-op grocery, walkable town center and is internationally famous for Frozen Dead Guy Days. http://www.nedfest.com/ so far this year: New Monsoon, KanNal, Vince Herman
Solfest (in Hopland CA) is nice http://www.solarliving.org/solfest2006.cfm Davis' Whole Earth Festival is free, but no camping.
i wouldnt classify it was a heady fest, but my favorite smaller festival is philadelphia folk festival. very very positive scene, awesome setting, lots of families and phriendly folks, good vibes, and the first music festival i ever went to. arlo guthrie, david grisman, marcia ball, and many others last year. emmylou harris was supposed to play, but she broke her hand or something. lineups not up for this of year as of last time i checked. www.folkfest.org
i take that back....line up IS up. hot tuna, jackson browne, sarah guthrie and johnny inon, terri hendrix, the roches and many many more.

I think so. I was the stocky guy with the huge goatee and the tie-dyed bandanna. I think you may know a guy folks call Hippie Scott or Ugly. He's the wiry guy with the cowboy hat and hiking staff. I just joined the Peace Conspiracy website under the name BooBoo and would love to offer my cooking skills in the Free Kitchen. I'll also be contacting you about possibly booking several artists from the Joplin area. Cinna The Poet and Nathaniel Mehrens.
Hey, right on! Scott is a great guy! Met one of his friends on myspace, and she brought folks to the potluck at my house last weeknd.. small world. Oh yea do contact me at my email. Your input is most welcome! Hope to see you at the next bash! I'll still be the lady near the sound gear, and with the free water. sparkle! ~mw http://peaceconspiracy.org/event
