We're headed from Utah and taking I-80 through Wyoming, dropping south into CO from there. Hear there's a good hot springs in Baggs, maybe on the way out though. Want to get home atm. Haven't heard anything about LEOs on the Baggs road, but we are driving safe and legal. Also helps that we look Mostly Harmless... Road Blessings upon you Come home safe to our fires ~willow~
from what i gather, the leo incident team only has jurisdiction within the forrest & not on the roads around steamboat..as of last report, there is no more blockade (or checkpoint as they called it) but there is a setup whee they are handing out flyers informing everyone that it is an illegal gathering & anyone going past a certain point is subject to ticketting. personaly i would love to see a box of tickets setupthere..sorta a self serve ticketting booth where we can all go get one i really cant say much about the best routes in, cause im still not leavin for a couple days unfortunately..but id suggest just doin what i always do, look for family hangin round the local towns & stop & ask em what the situation is.. if yoursafe & legal though, i imagine u should have no probs..unless a blockade does go back up..but i ceriusly doubt that will happen.. will see you home son as we can possibly get there
We got into Colorado today, and visited a friend who lives in Denver. We checked out a local concert and got a few rumors. The one person we found who has been there was out of the woods to deal with court. She said that we could probably avoid a road block, and that the feeling inside is wonderfull. We're going to get closer and see what we can find tomorow. I'm going to call my friend Lil' Jenn, who will update the site and get a timely first hand account here. Wish us luck.
stop worryin its all good, i'm guessin from now on thru thre wont be any roadblocks just occassional patrols thruthe site & a few more tickets handed out, the number of tickets will decrease too as more people arive.. if they handed out 200 in a week when there was 6-800 people on site they'll hand out only 20 in a week when theres 18000 i'm guessing by tomoro there will be over 8000 on site so theres no more cause for alarm as long as ya are safe & legal on the way in the magority of tickets from this point on will most likely be for dogs off leashes & nudity violations they cannot give tickets for refusing to sign a permit after they denied a permit, however they can give tickets for being illegaly there without a permit, but only if they give 1 to every single person they see there including any locals or media who come to see whats going on
HEY! yesterday, i was with my mom, and when i brought up rainbow, she got all momlike and told me about how rainbow was on Americas Most Wanted!!??!! she said that folks disappear at rainbow, and that on AMW, family's were cryin and whatnot,, just 4 kids, but still, (blessings to them* ) that is some funky funky stuff , and i can't help but feel funky too, feeling that maybe this is fuel for leo bustin up'in,,, muchless the 'okay' for them to, you know? muchless some negative learnt assumptions being put on rainbow!!! rahh did anyone else hear about this?? or was my mom talking about something else?? it gives me bad feelings, that i hope don't gotta be there, i hope* anyone know about this,, i really hope she was mistaken~
if its true, they had reasons for wanting to disapear rainbow is a food place to hide out if your in treouble or being abused so, possibly 1t's 1/2 true
oh yeah, when my mom told me, i just imagined a few kids stepping forth with their dreams =) and, oops, i meant to type, 'disappeared',, which the AMW show talked about,, i'm just wanting to know if anyone saw the show,, cuz i didn't, and i dont know if mom was mistaken or what,, i felt it's just propoganda to put a bad rep on rainbow~ which may influence leo's fystiness,, i hope not though~*
All it takes is just one bad seed to get the media's attention. The Rainbow gatherings did get quite a few mentions, on America's Most Wanted.... over one particular individual lately, but they have caught who they were after. A little digging brings up (this) I am sure he won't be the last on they look for at a gathering.
in the past i've seen posts on agr & have gotten emails through my site about stuff like this, ..one in particular i remember was from a preacher looking for his daughter, but the whole tone of the email really made me think that this girl just would not want to be found...i emailed him back saying that i was willing to post her picture & look for her, & relay the message that he was trying to reach her, but that if she felt the need to not be found that was all that could be done, & he should just rest assured that she was safe & amongst good people who cared about her & wouldnt let her be harmed. i tried to be as reassuring & diplomatic as i could, but the feelings i was getting from his emails was that if she did go back she would be a suicide waiting to happen we've all seen it before, in my school, 3 of the brightest kids, with the most "promicing futures" killed themselves because of the incredible pressure towards perfection they were under.. parents who mean well just dont understand that they can do so much harm by trying to forcibly do good if these 4 wre on amw, theyre probly trying to escape very wealthy homes with a ton of pressure towards perfection..successs..careers..& absolutely no understanding of any lifechoices other then whats expected of them i hope they are never found till they've grown enough as people to be able to re-contact them from a standpoint of strength..secure in who they are & what they want out of life..and afetermination to be who they are regardless of what others want them to be like some1 posted in another thread we are an old family we are a new family we are the same family stronger then before we honor you we empower you to be who you are that says all that needs to be said

Hay all!! Just so you know, there are people happpy and well at the Rainbow Gathering. There is plenty of food, fun and good spitits! There are however a few cops around giving some people a hard time and handing out a few tickets. Luckly the fine is only $75.00 - $150.00 PLUS the court date is only a few days from the date you got the ticket. Best of all... Because there are so many of you in such a smal town, that thay can't get through the whole docket in one day. That means that those who don't get a chance to go up get off Scott Free!!! We do recomend that you park on the outside and walk in though... ALSO! East of Steamboat Springsjust off of Route 40 near the Kremmling exit there is a lake and a camp ground. It's free to swim if you take the second exit. The camp ground charges $3.00 and up to swim/camp. I recomend you take the second exit... free is always better!!! The person who gave me the most info was... Mike-A-Holic (I think) ENJOY!!!!!
