I was pleased with the early critical reviews, and I'm a little more excited to see the movie now. IMO, the early trailers for this movie were really poorly done. They made Superman look metrosexual, and the whole thing looked really plastic. The newer trailers are way better, and I'm officially excited. So far this has been a mediocre blockbuster season at best, and I'm hoping that Suerman Returns will signal the beginning of better movies for the rest of the summer.

The early trailers for this movie were not the best as u say, but it wasnt the footage that done it for me it was the music! It brought back some many good memories!!!

Well, I saw it on IMAX. Liked the 3-D, ended up being not crazy about the movie. I thought the part of Lois was miscast, and there were a lot of problems with logic. It was a safe, tolerable, but not great first chapter in a franchise, but my fear is that this is as good as it's going to get.
They didnt pull a batman begins, its not the first chapter, its a sequel to the old ones, it takes place after superman II but before III and IV because those sucked.
I was so damn excited for this movie, but it was such a let down. They needed a few less dramatic parts and a few more actions scenes for my taste. Aweful BUT I do agree with what's being said about spacey. He's an excellent lex, plays the part really well...
Its not a first chapter in a franchise, its the true sequel to superman II, brian singer is pretending like III and IV never happened and made this sequel.
I did not see it but usually people that are more into the comics are more into the emotion and drama of the stories
