I got a tattoo of a peace sign on my ankle from a friend about two weeks ago. He used a blowgun dart and a Bic pen to do it. It looked fine and didn't get infected. It started to form a scab which I thought meant it was healing properly. However, when the scab fell off, all of the ink was in the scab rather than my leg. Any ideas why this happened or if I should let him redo it?

It probably would be in your best interest to get it done with the correct supplies and tattoo artist.

I'll tell you why this happened...because he didn't do it right...nor did you take care of it correctly.

No you shouldn't let him redo it...you should go to a professional, have it done with the right kind of ink and follow the aftercare instructions that he/she gives you.

scientifically, the ink he injected into your skin wasn't far enough in. Meaning, it was it the part of the skin that flakes off and is replaced constantly... not the underlayers of permanent "skin" where an actual tatoo artist would inject the ink.

The moral of the story? Go to a pro. Or you could just try it again, and maybe this time you will get gangrene or hepititis... because that would be super cool....
