That'd be the best thing.... On one side of the farm, I grow all my fruits and veggies and sell them at the market. I'll make my own jams, sauces, salsas and jellies. That would be so fun. On the other side of the farm I'll be raising sheep, goats, llammas and alpacas for their fur, shaving them once in a while and converting their furriness to balls of yarn, handspun and hand dyed. Yummy. So who's with me?
That sounds like a really good plan. I have always wanted to do that myself. Raise ewes and sells yarn. I'd like a nice Tudor-style cottage in England with several acres of land.
dont forget to take into consideration all the work of all those yarn producing critters,,,,besides the shearing process,,,,which in itself can be quite a job.... ,,, i personally would have to go and do aninternship at a place like you would like to truly see if its for you,,,,,big investment for a bunch of furballs
That's why they are called dreams dilligraf. I don't expect for it actually happen. I am not even talking large scale production, just an ewe or two to take care of, love and give a good home.
good to know mmm, pumpkins... last year after my pumpkin carving party at Halloween, I was able to make (believe it or not) a dozen pumpkin pies... they were sooo good! I kept one for myself, gave 6 others to family members and neighbors, and the remaining 5 were donated to a soup kitchen. lol... sure, as I peel the potato skins I can knit it into something!
Yeah last year I had four plants and I made about half a dozen Jacko Lanterns and enough pumpkin bread and soup to feed a restaurant (or my stomach which is the equivalent!) Whats great is you'd only eat them really for a short time each year when their in season so you really look forward to them!
