i heard of a way to dry buds so to speak u put them in water for 8 days to extract the chlorophyll and then u dry them normaly and the buds are smaller but a lot more potent
Curing--whether water or jar--increases potency and improves taste/aroma. I've always slow-dried and jar cured, I think I'm gonna give a few buds this next harvest a water cure, just to see the difference.
Well, I remember the thread discusing this back on OverGrow. It got quite big. The biggest experience people had was that the potency was significantly increased, but it relaly didn't look like it at first. A lot of folks also said that the taste of the bud was leeched out with it. Anyway, the procedure is somewhat simple. You just let the buds you're curing sit submerged in water (weight them down somehow), and each day, gently change the water (so as to not knock loose trichomes). Some used fans to dry the bud afterward, some used a dehydrator they pickedu pfrom Wal-Mart, but it is important that you dry the buds out completely before they grow mold. It's useful to add that many have actually used this method of curing to leech mold of buds that have already molded; a salvage technique, really. I didn't read extensively on what the experience with that was. If you've got patience, a jar cure is said to produce the same potency, with all the taste and aroma. Personally, I'm the impatient type, and can't even taste smoke very well. I've already discussed water-curing a small batch of buds from a friend's grow that I'm maintaining while he's away.
