it's hard to make an individual statement with a band t shirt when there are a thousand other little 14 year olds in the mall food court wearing the same thing. but it's better than wearing name brands, i'll give you that.
Each to their own mate. If you find security and confidence looking like everyone else don't let my opinion bother you
I pay attention to the brand, just whatever is comfortable and looks nice. Usually I shop second hand for shirts and jackets (jeans I buy new so they last longer), so I'm not paying anything out to the companies that made the clothes. No doubt I've got some trendy brand name shirt overtime buying second hand, but I really don't look at who makes it. I'm past the age when the tag on your shirt matters.
I pay more attention to the retailers, i boycott most companies. because you cant really blame companies for buying products made by sweatshop workers overseas. it saves money. not like they cant afford it or anything. but theyre cheap, like everyone else. the retailers were enabled to do this after the passing of NAFTA, when gates were open to other countries, it also allowed americans to go outside the US, and use entrapment to have workers produce clothing.
I wear what I find visually appealing, what I can afford and what I find comfortable. It's as simple as that. If these clothes happen to be brand name, then so be it.
i bought like 5 pairs of pants from rue 21 for 5 bucks and turned 3 of them into bellbottoms.i mostly wear tye dye so its easy to make.i also wear liquid blue when they have stuff on sale.
I never got what was so bad about brand names. i mean, i'm not gonna run around screaming "fuck brand names!" when i dont really have a reason for saying it. what i dont like is when people walk around wearing their brand names as a status symbol acting like they're better than everyone else.
Thats the idea behind brand names though, that because you purchased that brand you are part of an exclusive club. Brand names are just collective identities you buy into if you buy them new, if you buy them second hand well I dont know. Ive been wearing only white shirts and black pants for the past 2 years, it works for me.
I wear mostly homemade clothes. I like gauzy/linen pants and such. Wear jeans occasionally, without care to brand.
i love abercrombie.. american eagle... hollister... and RL... i have some homemade stuff.. but not alot.... my parents just go CrAZy when it comes to clothes shopping...
i tend not to wear brands - the major ones or even band name t- shirts if i am to wear one (cos i like the look of the type of product, yeah i will buy it - though it maybe the only name brand i will have but most of the time i don't think i will) i just feel happier supporting the smaller business and chances are, the stuff you buy not a lot of people will have it e.g. in the sense of clothes for example every single product must have a brand name lol so i choose i wear some and not others
Meh, I don't often pay attention to it, unless it's something brand new that I find for 1/1 zillionth of the price. Then I buy it for a gift. Most times I buy second hand clothing.
There are three brand names I can think of that I patronize. Birkenstock sandals, New Balance shoes, and Levi's jeans. All because they fit comfortably (especially important in shoes, imo), and I wait until they are on sale. Other than that, I disregard brand names. I buy whatever is the best deal for my money, regardless of the name on it.
