I try to tie mine down while I sleep but they won't have it. More often than not they stay up all night drinking and partying and playing that damned Texas-Hold em card game they see on the television. I wake up with my hair smelling like booze and tobacco and the dreads passed out all around.

    Its becoming a problem.

I usually sleep with mine down but lift them off the pillow first and put them so that they lay on the pillow above me. I cannot STAND the feeling of hair on my neck if I am laying down on it. However this makes them stand out a bit when I wake up.

my dreads are at their early stage. they are only a week old. I wear them down when i sleep in hope that they start knotting up faster

I it gets irritating at times, its like a weak midget trying to choke you. Its so annoying, and then i have the move the hair back. But i dont want to hit a stranger in the face with my hair. But with firends is fun to do, espically if they think your hair is dirty :D
Anywho I just sleep with my hair doing what ever... I may move if they get into my mouth or something. But yea i just let them be free most of the time... :p

    Thanks for making me chuckle.

Mine are in the "first week stage", so I sleep with my hair free to help snarl the hair up some more. It doesn't take much for my hair to knot up, so I am hoping it helps. When they finally tighten up, most likely I will sleep with them down.

Usually I just let them stay down. However if they are wet, I'll just put my locks inside nylon tights(looks stupid yes but helps drying) and keep them up.

I usually leave them down, (don't tie them or anything) and flip them up past the pillow when I lay down in bed. I don't like to tie them back, because it pulls and tugs and feels uncomfortable at night. But if I just leave them down like usual they get in my way, and me or Ian will usually get caught on one rolling over or something and that can cause a very rude awakening in the night! I have a harder time at night getting my hair comfy for sleep than the rest of me!

If I'm trying to cleep or nap somewhere without a pillow/other than my bed, I'll do like Soaring Eagle said and bunch them up to make a pillow. :)

Weird question, sort of kind of related to this - has anyone besides me had problems with your locks "getting in the way" while you're being, uh, "intimate" ? I hate it when they get stuck under me and tug (especially if I'm tied up! ;) )

Mine are just chilling while I sleep :) Makes for some interesting hair in the morning, sticking up everywhere, but it's comfy. They're like a pillow for me.

I just leave them down and let them do what they do.........and yeah, they get in the way of being intimate, nothing like trying to give her some good head and sucking on a stray lock.

I tie them up when getting intimate...(the dreads!...um..)

I usually sleep with a headband on to hold it off of my face as much as possible. Sometimes I let it go free, sometimes I wear a tam. But yeah, the tam rarely stays on my head. I always wake up and it's on the floor or somewhere random.

isnt that what mitch hedburg says about wearing a backpack and a turtle neck at the same time?

my dreads are only 26 days old at this point but i started putting them up in a bandanna but lately ive been sleeping with em down but i might go back, i havent really noticed much difference either way

Mine tend to snuggle with me on my pillow. They're quite affectionate little things. Everywhere I go.. everywhere, I tell you..
