Unfortunately, I know the real world all too well. Trust me, you don't want Alfonso to be your only friend. Just think of Alfonso.
the less you wash ;your hair, the less greasy it gets - in the long run! SO GOFOR IT! we r so brainwashed to think that the smell of soap or shampoo is nice and fresh and attractive.... i like natural smell, and beleive it or not, many guys i've been with don't shower everyday, and STILL they don't smell, at all! and if you've been outdoors aroundthe fire, i don't mind the gypsy perfume (smell of smoke in the hair etc) it smells wild and actually, on the right person, can turn me on....
anyone who will name themselves after a nutritionless chemical soup has little foundation for saying that is all, ALL, anyone needs to know. But she makes a few good points: a SLS free shampoo can be used as often as needed. A stronger sodium laureth/lauryl sulfate shampoo should be used less often. If you have large flakes that smell coming out, that is a scalp problem. It is possible to wash only the scalp (reccomended if you are going long) scritching the scalp, scratching lightly with a comb at the base of the hair shafts, will break up lots of the crap that builds up and allow you to rinse or wash it away easier. some peole get great results "washing" with a paste of baking soda and rinsing with apple cider vinegar. The hair will need conditioning/oiling, but the scalp is pretty happy. it's neglect that makes ugly hair, not a change in care routine. but if you get the clumps of flakes, you do need to claen the scalp more often.
I wash my dreadies with Dr. Bronnor's hemp soap. I love it when they are clean. Not washing your hair will leave you prone to lice. Fuck that. Parasites suck ass!
I've sort of stopped washing my hair. I have to condition it every once in a while (a few times a week) and shampoo every few weeks to a month. Based on all the compliments I get on my hair, I think I'm doing OK. I shower almost every day though. Sometimes my hair gets really frizzy though, does anyone know how to tame that frizzzzz? Ideally w/ no chems.. brad
go to a rasta store or a natural store and get natural oils. I use "blue nile" on my dreads. i get it from the rasta store. i love it.
you really should shower that much man, its not good for your skin. your drying out your skin and stripping away all the good body oils and chemicals. why dont you just wear deoderant (i suggest the Irish Springs, many a fine girl has complimented me on that kind and it lasts all day too)and wear a different shirt for sports, that way you can sweat only into that shirt and youll be fine in your other clothes and you wont have to take so many showers.
