Has anyone read this best seller by Mitch Albom? I put off reading it for a long time because I thought it was going to be "too cutsie" or something like that. But last summer I took a class called "Best Sellers" and it was on the syllabus. I couldn't put the book down! I loved it...

He also wrote another book called The Five People You'll Meet in Heaven. That is another good book, but it's written in a way that makes it a harder read.

Just thought I'd add a comment cause I was talking about Tuesdays with Morrie just yesterday with a buddy. I LOATHE and cannot stand cheezey shit. Man, I used to own 6 different Chicken Soup for the Souls and now I want to vomit every time a story mentions angels or God's will. (God wills it!) But I really liked both Tuesdays with Morrie and The 5 People you Meet in Heaven. Mitch Albom has a way of being honest and clear avoiding the nauseating feeling that usually accompanies most of my reactions to warm fuzzies. I liked both of these books. It makes me think of the book The Diving Bell and the Butterfly written in blinks by a quadropalegic (yeah I spelled that wrong). Short and sweet and a decent, short, inspiring story.

That book...as silly as it may sound...kind of changed my perspective on life. I was going through a series of epiphanies at the time I read it, so I really attached myself to Morrie's whole philosophy on learning how to die before you learn how to live. Very good read.

I started it out in a L.A class once, my teacher was reading it, so when she was done I picked it up. Never finished it, but in the 30 minute reading session I got past half-way in the book. It was good so far. I read the 5 ppl u meet in Heaven. It wasn't spectacular, but a good read. I recomend ppl to read this book if they like thoughtful and inspiring books.

If you like Mitch Albom or Chicken Soup-type books, you’ll love “The Doctor’s Bag – A Sentimental Journey” by John Schlarbaum– author of “Aging Gracefully Together – A Story of Love & Marriage”.

    Check it out at www.scannerpublishing.com.

    You won’t be disappointed! Enjoy!

Here’s a review from The Midwest Book Review:

The Doctor's Bag: A Sentimental Journey is the heartwarming tale of the life of Thomas Sterling and his son Robert. Readers will become enthralled with The Doctor's Bag as the intimate story between father and son unfolds, giving new meaning to the actual doctor's bag itself. As the doctor's bag acts as the metaphor between healing and pain from year to year, The Doctor's Bag leaves the reader with an enlightening message of life, love and hope. The Doctor's Bag is strongly recommended to the general reader and those searching for a gentle, touching, and life changing read.
