I was thinking of setting up a Xtian usergroup. This would enable xtians to have their own forum(s), calendar, mods, etc. People would have to apply to join the group. You'll be able to restrict access to your resources to only those in the group. This would solve the problem with the private xtian forum more or less. There may be more features available in the future for the usergroup. What do you think?
Oh, btw, I think "Hip Christians" would be a good title for the group, but you can decide on that yourselves.

skip, i liked your original idea of having a separate subgroup for controversial "questions" or critiques of xianity. i like being able to see what everyone says though, and would miss all that if they had a private section. but i really think there needs to be a subgroup so the rest of the board doesnt get spammed and christians feel undersiege. my 2 sense.
Well what I meant was like how does it function. how would one go about joining and whatnot... But really, I carry no strong feelings either way. So I guess my vote is a "maybe", even though a lazy "why not" would suit my choice better
While I really appreciate the gesture skip, personally I have no problem with the way it is now. Although I am not "neccesatilly" a "christian" per-se, maybe you would call me a universalist, a new-ager, a liberal christian? I don't know... But regardless... I don't think that there needs to be a closed group, for the reason that Christians (not talking about me, I was a fundie for most my life though, so here is my take on it form that perspective, although I realize almost no one here is a fundie, you know what I mean I hope/think. ) feel that it is their duty to share their faith. I know personally ALL people's faiths should be challenged. I think isolating them would create a very elite group and be like a country club or something. If people can't stand up to a little critiquing if their beleifs, why don't they take their ball and go home then? This is hipforums, after all, one would expect people to come here with open minds.
Yeah, let's cull the xians from the normals by giving them there own special place to reside. We can call it something cool like "The Christian Ghetto".
