Could I use my pipe as a bowl...

Hey guys,

Could I use my glass pipe as a bowl for a homemade bong? I want to try a bong and I was wondering if I could not worry about making a "smoking safe" bowl for one, by just using the glass pipe. How would I do this witha bottle and some putty? Or a tube for a stem?

I wouldn't reccomend it. Why do you want to make a bong with your pipe? Just smoke from the pipe.

 

you can do anything with a little creativity. it's easy for me, because i have a chillum, which i could very easily use for a bong. the ease with which you can make a bong depends on the shape and size of your pipe. the way i'd do it is to burn a hole into the side of a plastic soda bottle, fit in the piece, and put a strip of duct tape over the gap.

 

I want to try a bong, it would be something new to me.

I could just put the pipe straight through the side but it would be level with the water, so thats bad right?

 

the stem of the pipe should be partially submerged into the water. hopefully it is long enough.

 

right... why why why why why... do people always think they gotta make their own pipes!!! especially out of a glass pipe... thats like saying "could i turn my 2006 Cadillac Escalade into a demo derby racer?"

A normal bong would look like one on the left, mine would have to look like the one on the right, meaning that the water and pipe wopuld be level, isn't this bad?

 

if by "bad" you mean stupid then yes... it is bad... your problem is that the bowl is not above the water level.. the water is just gonna over flow out of the bowl...

throw away the bottle and just pack the pipe.. thats how ya make it work..

My pipe always ends up irritating me after I'm already done smoking. It like burns me sort of.

your pipe is definitely far from ideal for use in a bong...but try taping the bowl up as much as you can to get it above the water level.

all it takes is a little inspiration

 

Get some tin foil, putty, a hose or something for a stem, and a bottle cap.
Put your stem in the bottle.
Seal the hole with the putty.
Put the bottle cap on the stem.
Put the tin foil on the cap.
Make sure the water isn't too high.
Oh yea, add water. It is essential to the bong.

When I had a pipe, I took the bowel off and put it on the stem.
It worked very well.
Your pipe is much to complex.
If you got it above the water, the bowl would be really high and the shit would fall out.

 

you know the slot/hole were you put in the steam(in your case, pipe) make sure the water is bellow that because the water will just overflow out of the bowl and get your weed all wet. and we dont want that.

 

Why not make a chalice.

 

why not just buy a bong if you really don't wanna smoke out of the pipe?

 

I though that tin foil and plastic weren't safe materials for a bowl. That was the whole reason why I made this thread.

yeah so to avoid water flowing into your bowl try having the bowl of your pipe above the water level that is in the bottle. You'll probably have to tilt your pipe up a little so that it slants upwards above the water surface.
