This is going to be our summer craft project. We got the doolhouse as is from someone who didn't want to finish it. i have never done this, but the idea of a teeny tiny patchy quilt appeals to me. This was taken as we were getting ready to attach the siding. Any ideas or hints would be appriciated.
I just wanted to say that that is one awesome project to do! Good luck with it, and I'm sure you all will have a blast!
*Drools* I've been seriously into dollhouse miniatures since October (I didn't realize that whole world was out there) and I've been trying to finish an old dollhouse kit I had and I actually bought another (sitting in the box still...). But I've been plotting out all the crafty things to make for it. I've been working on a miniature needlepoint rug. NBow that it's summer, I hope I can get some stuff accomplished, hehe. Are you going to install lighting into it? I don't know what era you plan on decorating it in, but if you do a modern theme, you should totally make little beaded cutains out of seed beads! hehe Update us as it all comes along!
Yes we are hoping to run lights, and we have some ceiling fans. My son got real interested in working with minatures since we got it. Its been lots of fun. has anyone attached siding to a dollhouse? I have been trying different things and so far the only thing that works has been contact cement. But the fumes are so bad I have to send the kids away while I attach. They would like to help, any ideas on what might work?
Sweet! My parents friend's daughter designs custom dollhouses, I can ask her what she uses to put the siding on. I would suggest hot glue, but I don't think I could trust kids with a hot glue gun (I can barely trust myself with one.. haha).
