anyone here still listen to it? I do still the best form of music available today, except live of course
Yeah, I've got quite a disc collection. About 60-80 "popular" albums, like from the 60's-present, some electronica, and another hundred or so classical, organ, erotic percussion, big band, lounge and space age pop. Yeah, vinyl is the cool.
I still pull mine out every now and again. I have around 5,000+ albums and around the same on 45's ( anybody remember them ). Most of my collection is top 40 from the 50's thru the mid to late 70's.
That's wild man. My mom's friend Pudge has about five or six 10 foot long racks full of records. I don't know how many records that is, but damn, it's alot. He also has a room full of basses, up to the ceiling like. Do you have insurance for all that wax?
Yeah, I listen to vinyl all the time. I just got six vinyl psychedelic albums today for $21.00. Vinyl is great if you're on a tight budget!
I just recently got a record player for my birthday, but I grew up listening to records because my parents have a player and hundreds of records. I actually just bought a few records: The Delta 72 and The Moody Blues
My dad just recently set up one of his old record players in my room, because he used to DJ for dances, and I took a bunch of his records and listen to them all the time. Somehow, it's a different experience on vinyl.
I still have my turntable from over 20 years ago and don't plan on getting rid of it. My vinyl collection consists of about 3 dozen albums (some bought used) and about ninety 45s-mostly '80s vintage.
I'm getting my mom's old turntable repaired and im gonna put it in my room. I dont have many records yet, but im gonna buy some. I borrowed some from my mom to listen to though. Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Chris de Burgh, Donovan, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, mamas and the papas, simon & garfunkel, cat stevens, the who, and the beach boys. I'm sicj of downloading music, so im getting into vinyl so i can listen to the good old music.
i got my parents collection of vinyl, no record player though i do have a beatles 45 with yesterday on it, im told its worth some money.
I LOVE VIYNL there is a store here in Cheyenne and the guy that owns it can get almost any album you could possibly want...he got me Dark Side of the Moon for $5 Wish you were Here for $4 Thick as a Brick For $2.50, DAMN IT IS AWESOME Sounds better i believe, Like it was ment to sound that way....
I'd like to find a place that has some old blues records for sale...I've checked in many of the record stores in my area to no avail... Currently I've got about 100 - 150 records 45's and LP's, from the late 50's through the late 90's, ranging from the big band stuff, 60's rock, country and soul, 70's goofy disco (including a Disney Disco record), 80's pop and 90's punk and indie....but I'm a sucker for blues music, and have a decent collection of reissues on CD, but nada on record....any help would be appreciated..
i just got my first record a few days ago at amoeba in san francisco on the haight. now i'm working on fixing my parent's broken old record player. records rule; and if you're looking to start a collection; go to amoeba! they have like everything you could possibly want!
Nothing sounds as good as Vinyl!!! And it's undestroyable, yeah. In 30 years when all the CD's,MD's and stuff is gonna be worthless crap I will sit down ,roll a joint and listen to my James Brown LP!
i love vinyl so much.. it's become such an obsession. i cleaned and rearranged all my records today. they were all in piles collecting dust, except for the ones i listen to frequently- crosby stills nash n young, bob dylan, joan baez, the beatles, pink floyd, supertramp, steve miller band (im going mad for them lately, i love this band)... now they're all neatly lined up. and is it just me, or is it impossible to get rid of a record? i've got some crazy random shit, and it actually is just that... shit... but i just can't let go of it. i think it might just be me... im such a packrat. but i can get rid of a crappy cd, no sweat... odd
Vinyl is quite interesting. Every time I get an old record, I always have to wonder who had it before I got it and what he/she thought of it and how often he/she listened to it and whatnot. It's like there's this unknown bond between someone who had and loved an LP and the person who now has and loves that LP. I was listening to my original pressing of Moby Grape's debut album today and I was thinking about that...
