this is the only pic that i got to take before the batteries died on my camera sorry if it's not the best.
Thanks all I'm so happy with how my dreads are progressing! I backcombed initally (I really wanted to go natural but I knew that it wouldn't go over well at work. lol) but have left them alone ever since. I don't bother to palm roll or any of that jazz.....just wash them up with some nice soap and enjoy them. They did shrink up a little bit but C'est la vie! I'm told that part of the process is them shrinking up and then fattening up. Only time will tell............. In any event, I certainly love having dreads!
Beautiful locks, mama! IMHO, they look way more mature then most 3 month-old locks. Whatever youre doing, keep doing it!!!
they look really tight near the roots and middle. the tips will take time, mine are like 7 months now, and the tips arent knotted yet, but it doesnt bother me. I guess doing nothing really does help, cuz thats what i do and it works like a charm. lately tho ive been palm rolling alot, but its because ive been bored and its something to keep me occupied haha. yay for dreads!! keep it up man. peace~
hey knittin' chick, yer dreads are looking really good...they remind me a bit of mine, not that every dreadhead isn't a unique snowflake or whatever, but...sounds like you're doing the right things, ie: nothing, and that'll treat you well with time.
Thanks all I really appreciate the positive feedback (especially today because they seem to be having a crazy day! lol....such is life with dreads )
They look great. Mine are 3 months old as well, and they aren't quite that knotted. I do notice it helps to use something to grip the end of the dread and it will knot up before it. Do you suppose that wearing the beads has helped tighten the dreads you put them on?
Whats you secret? How did your hair get so tight in such a sort period of time? Im at around 6 mouths, i think 5.. And They are starting to look like that...
