a couple of hippies were hitching today. i didnt stop to pick them up, i was literally about 200m from my destination, so i sign languaged "short distance" and the peace sign. the guy was all like holding his hands out and totally disappointed with me that i didnt pick them up. ::sigh:: no more guilt trips!!!! i can only do so much.
gah i cant deal with any more self introspection at this point. isnt there some saying about only going on a guilt trip if you decide to go...
haha. I totally read the title of this post as "what is it with QUILT trips?" Boy, was I confused. I was like yeah... hippies, I can see how that would link... but where are the quilts, dammit?!
that'd be an interesting theme for a road trip, you could travel from retirement community to retirement community visiting quilting circles and listening to the chatter of 80 yr olds while they stitch together scraps of fabric into tapestries that hold the stories of generations, and give warmth to the generations to come.
i used to hitch a lot, and i try to pick pple up if they check on a gut level. it's the island, in the summer there's always lots of freaks with backpacks travelling around. gotta love it.
