yeah... well i had Eric (sitareric) go over it with me on MSN last night and so I get it now. I just need to practice practice practice now.
But I'm not going to a music school; I'm going to a recording school. You can be an audio engineer and not know how to read a single musical note.
That's true... And considering the fact that neither Tommy Emmanuel nor Stevie Ray Vaughan ever read music, it really doesn't even matter. Some people have an ear, some people don't have anything. You either already have it or you have to make yourself try to develop it over time. I really can't remember which I was because I started playing the organ when I was about three and went on from there... I remember the first song I ever learned on the organ was Smoke On The Water. I don't even read tab, for the most part, unless I'm doing complicated fingerstyle stuff. I use chords and a note here and there to keep me on track and re-arrange stuff the way I like it, the rest is my ear and my right hand.
I have no idea how to read music, but I could explain to you in person what you wanted to know... I have no idea how I would type what I want to say, but luckily for you Eric already explained it. Jimi Hendrix couldn't read a musical note, either. As everyone knows.
