geddy lee is the greatest musician in the world. not only does he come up with the most otherwordly, mind fucking riffs, plays them all while singing. fucking love that guy.
to eaches own, but I despise Rush, I think its wankery garbage, be nice if their drummer kept the beat, instead of inserting some mini tom roll thing every chance he gets
rush has never been one of my favorite groups. I used to really like triumph though, for some strange reason when I was younger I would get the two mixed up.
I've seen them live 2 or 3 times I forget, but their musicianship is top-grade. Not a big fan of the music... I mostly went to see the neal peart rip it up but I got a surprise when all of them were pretty dam good.
If rush would have gone and hired a real singer, they could have turned a good band into a great band
ya i agree his singing can get a little annoying, but i mainly just listen to rush because of the music; top grade for sure
32 years after their first album came out and folks are still talking about them....must've done something right....heh heh "Working Man" is a cool song...
depends on your definition of 'Top grade musicianship" My opinion is that its all about the songs, and if you are playing a bunch of busy stuff, and cluttereing it all up, you suck as a musician. Neil Pert is an awful drummer, seriously. i would never consder playing with a drummer who looked up to him
IM not a huge fan of rush by any means, but I do like some of their stuff....... their live material is amazing. yeah, some people may find them pretentious, especially neil pearts drumming and lyrics, but they are talented.
