slipknot is not metal?? are you kidding me?? they are a prototype. IM not a huge fan of slipknot by any means, but I still consider them metal....... whoever said they werent.

and Electric Wizard and Sleep for their doom stuff.

I love bands like Black Sabbath, Nashville Pussy, Richie Blackmore's Rainbow and for example Atomic Bitchwax a lot as well, but I don't really see them as metal myself. More pure but heavy rock.

Ah well, they do that with every genre. I just don't like bad examples that are stereotypicalized, like Black Sabbath is heavy metal and Cradle of Filth black metal.
When you're asked to state your 5 fav metal bands, and Black Sabbath is my favourite band, I just had to state my point of view with it.
