    Now how about getting rid of all of the religion forums on this site. I think you'd agree with me in that the world would be a much better place void of organized religion - why not start here?

    With some of these religions, there seem to be two completely different perspectives being posted in the forums. Either you're really ga, ga over it, or you want to criticize it mercilessly.

    Again there are so many thousands of websites that do nothing but go ga ga over religion, and a very small amount that criticize it.

    Religion's a perfectly valid topic to discuss, and criticize. But GLORIFYing is probably going a bit far, but I think we should tolerate any POV, provided it doesn't attack individual members. However those that attack the notion of free speech, this website, those who staff it, and those who support us, and a more liberal ideology are NOT going to be treated like members here.

    But there is no taboo subject. That's the point. I'd rather help people express views that are UNPOPULAR, even if I don't agree, than support and provide resources to those who only criticize our POV, and would like to impose censorship as the Xtian church has done since its founding!

    "Christians" are certainly welcome here. Most of the "Christians" I know are very good people. But I see that they are good people in spite of being Christians. Good people are often Christian because they're attracted to the story of Christ, which is very compelling.

    So I believe that is one reason for its success is that a lot of good people are into it. But I think they're being misled, in exactly the same way that some misguided suicide bomber believes he'll soon be bedding 72 virgins. There's no difference from my POV.

    It's none-too-subtle brainwashing.

    I know many christians who don't do the dogma trip. Don't have their heads stuck in the bible, but spend their days living christ-like lives. That's the Tao of it. For them it's not a matter of being "saved", just being real.

    But never mind, some ppl don't get it.

    I'm a Christian so I don't go to hell. I just about fed up with preachers and the religion though. My pastor and parents always go on about sin and judegment all the time. Pisses me off.

    Hell is the deal closer. It's a threat the CHURCH makes to keep you inline. You can't leave the church cause you'll GO TO HELL! Isn't that nice? You're supposed to swallow that crap?

    There is NO PROOF of hell, EVER!

    In fact there's FAR MORE PROOF that life on earth can be LIVING IN HELL (or heaven) than the existence of either "place". It's ALL IN YOUR MIND!

    Mind control, is where it's at. I don't believe Jesus was into mind control. In fact he was all for freeing people's minds. The church however is another story, as is the bible! Oh there's some good tips in the bible, no doubt. But the overall tone of a vengeful, judgemental God is B.S.

    God is NOT human and therefore does not have human emotions or thoughts, such as those attributed to "Him" in the bible.

    Yet everyone one of us is God incarnate. That is the paradox...

    So we must come to realize the God within us all, and THEN we won't act like greedy, vengeful, judgemental humans...

    But you don't need Xtianity, or Christ to achieve such enlightenment. It's part of human evolution. Something Xtians refuse to acknowledge, and therefore will never attain.

    I think Christianity defined as a religion of homophobes and merciless blind Bush supporters is far from right or just.

    That being said I think we are the ones who spread that myth. The men and women in power mistook verses and let their fear and ignorance takeover. It's a shame. Chrisitianity should be about helping your brother and sister in need. The sick, the poor and the emotionally troubled. Being quick to forgive. Living a life in service to your God and fellow man. Some Christians still follow this same code of ethics. I will say though that I think it's the vast minority.

    I don't have to worry about hell. Once you get saved, you're saved no matter what you do. They always talk about God's wrath though, and use examples from the old testament even though God doesn't work like that anymore.

    Yes, but even those people are still blinded by the belief in a 'God' and in the saving power of 'Jesus'. But people have to realize is that Jesus is not going to save you when he supposedly "comes back".

    It's actually kind of true, see, if your christian then that mean everything that has been proven by scientist is completely false .Such as dinosaurs and cave men. In the bible they don't mention anything about dinosaurs and they say that the cave men weren’t real. This is why I gave up on the bible ,it confuses me way too much, and it is just the weirdest thing I ever read and i only read the rule stuff!
