I dont have a car... And this summer is going to be kind boring at some points... So I want to travel... Im just wondering what the deal with hitchhiking? I never did it before. Is it really safe, are there some crazy people out there? How can i tell if there crazy?... Can anyone can give me the run down about hitchhiking? Thanx...
you really need to scope out who you are getting a ride from. On our way out to nationals this year we picked up 4 hitch hikers. Everyone of them where amazing and shared stories with us. I had to hitch a ride from Steamboat Springs to Denver and everything went well. Just protect yourself. Be safe!
Last Summer when I was planning on leaving AZ again & head back to NH, I mentioned to my ex and posted on this site about hitch-hiking across the country. Well my ex freaked (along with couple members here) reminding me that the 60's were over and it's no longer safe for a single girl to hitch that far....I finally took the greyhound bus, but the idea of hitching across the country still sounds good to me.
I really want to go to go this augest ( I made it so that i have little to no appointments, or school related stuff in this mouth). But I still need to tell my parents, and I really want to go. For so long I been wanting to travel and for the past month I've been reading alot of hitchhker stuff like tips, stories, and other handbook related stuff. So what do i say to parents and try to convince them? I know my mom and dad hiked the mountains of Poland. Also my mom wants me to get out of the house more and travel (her own words and i really didnt do anything, this summer yet except go to summer school)... There are some points, that i think i can use...
Hitchiking is wicked, I do it all the time. I'm not really scared about who picks me up. No ones ever fucked me over. Its probably because I live in a small town and I know a lot of people. Even hitchhiking away from home, I need a drive somewhere, its better than just walking.
