no idea wich inventions are good, but its easy too see wich ones are bad. things such as the psp, the nintendo ds, newer and bigger cars are obviously bad. to find the trully good inventions, you need to ask yourself if it is truly helping you in your life, or if it is not just another piece of technological crap.

Semiconductors. They made so many OTHER inventions possible and/or practical....

K-Y Jelly should top the list along with popper-knockers and eight track tapes.

I'm thinking the electric grid has done more to aliviate human suffering than any other technological inovation.
Communication satilites. (Hurrah for the V-2 ??)
    The transistor.
    The internet.
    Telephone system.
    Blood Banks
    Polio vacine.

A lot of stuff was invented in the 20th century. Any invention can be misused. Many of these have been. But they also do good.

I think the best invention would be Solar Panels.

I would have to agree with semiconductors at this moment. But given that superconductors and quantum coherence based devices are currently in earlier stages of development and show promise, I doubt that in the long run the answer to this question will stay the same.

    The fission fusion fission warhead.

Best to get the bad stuff out of the way quickly.[IMG]
Then we can turn them into toasters but keep
the theory for better uses...like power generation

Though its not really an invention, it was discovered and synthesised.
Penecillin. With out it I think its estimated that 70% of people living in the world today would not be here. Oh, wait, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I invented the cheapest solar collector possible,a black hose going through plastic bottles.Since I had the hose, the total cost was $ 0.0.
I use it now 3 years to shower every day in the summer time and I wonder myself how inteligent I was!
I have a site with this at www.freewebs.com/energiesolara (is in Romanian.
    I'll translate if necessary).
    Best luck!

The internet, because without it I'd be ignorant and bored as hell.
