k so. my dealer was sent away like 3 months ago. and was basically giving up on pot and his brother had his own hydro lab so he grew his own and basically got it for free. so before he left he gave me allllllll his stash. and i still havent finished smoking it. i have to take a break for a little while since im starting new meds (zoloft..it sucks) so i have to wait like 2 weeks to see if the meds work and not have any marijuana interfere and then i can start smoking again once my bodys used to the zoloft. so. what im wondering is. the weeds not really that dry because i keep some under an orange peel to give it back moisture before i smoke it, but is it okay to keep that long. i have it air tight but im not used to having this much at one time. im wondering if it can get less potent. it didnt seem like it last time i smoked it. i dunno
If it's sealed in an air-tight container, it shouldn't lose potency. Some people even go as far as saying that it cures it and makes it better.
If you're keeping it in an air-tight container, you might not want to put an organe peel in with it. Depending on how much weed you have, compared to how many peels, the bud could grow mold on it from the added moisture. Keeping the bud in air-tight jars will "cure" the bud. Basically, you're giving the bud time for all the chorophyl and plant matter to deteriorate, while the THC remains. It increases potency in a technical term, although I've never cured bud myself; all that I've known who have, say that it increases potency dramtically. Just remember to "burp" the container at least once or twice a day to ensure that mold does not grow on your bud.
Uncured bud tastes like shit. Properly cured bud can bring out more crystals (visibly anyway not necessarily increase the thc), improve the flavour and give you more bang for your buck so to speak (thc/weight). If you're keeping it in a jar or tupperware or similar it should be fine, just let it breathe once or twice a day. I wouldn't reccommend putting stuff in with it to keep it wet (and don't know why anyone would) because wet bud is shitty and people who sell it are shitty, as a spliff of wet grass weighs as much as 2 of dry. If it's airtight it doesn't matter if its dry. Everyone I know who grows on a 'commercial' scale, cures. It's as essential as drying IMO peace
