I don't know how to name my style. Probably preppy. Most of my clothes come from Urban Outfitters, Jcrew, BRepublic, Thrift Stores, etc. I buy what I like. The most expensive thing I own are a pair of jeans. They were originally 180$, I got them for 80$. To most of you this probably sounds ridiculous, but it makes me happy.
I'm the same way there.. I buy what I like and that's that.. Most of my clothes though are name brand but I'll pretty much shop anywhere I can find things I like.. I'm a colorful person so I can make anything match..
Posted this before: Mostly 1920s with a little bit of 1940s (young girl in the 40s, not some bombshell from the 40s) and a touch of librarian.
I shop at the thrift store so much. Mainly for t-shirts and long sleeve button ups. Its rare to find a good pair of pants at the thrift store. I would say the most expensive thing I own would probably be a hoodie of two from PAC sun. I never bought them but I received them as a gift. I would never pay more than 40 dollars for a hoodie.
dr martens, leather jacket, blaxck singlet, black glasses and a huge backpack the most expensive thing i own is my leather jacket bout AUS$200
I love shopping at thrift stores or any places where you can get cheap clothes basically. I look for colourful, eyepopping things
My style is like a dressy hippyish casual. For example my favourite outfit is a knee-length flowy creme skirt with a black tank-top, and a tye-dye tee and my birkenstocks. I wear thick black framed glasses so I guess my style is a bit nerdy too. The most expensive thing I own is actually the prom dress I wore this year. It was $240 USD. But I didn't pay for it, and I have only worn it once, so really the most expensive thing I own and wear are my birkenstocks $109 USD.
Thrift shopping is by far the best. There are so many amazing things there that people just throw away. Most expensive thing- One of my Ren Faire outfits. All around they cost us about 150 to make.
hummm............. I don't know that I have a style........everone I know just calls me a hippie (original, eh?). I basically buy clothes that are on sale really cheap or at thrift stores. Other than that, I make all my own, which is what I prefer to wear...only the ladies on here make the kind of clothes that I like to wear. As for the most expensive thing I own......probably would be the maternity outfir that I wore for my wedding...a nice 3-teired, flowy white skirt and a matching shirt.
my style is basically whatever is cleanest off the floor whatever i find around my house or from realitives and in thrift stores pretty much jeans and funky low cut tops
I've never really felt like my style fits into any one specific category. I have moments where I love to dress up or wear costume-like clothing (or actual costumes), but day to day, I wear a lot of brightly colored, plain t-shirts and jeans. I love vintage clothing, especially styles from the 1920s-1940s, as well as Victorian inspired clothing. I make and wear reconstructed denim skirts fairly often, and I recently worked in an American Apparel store, so I racked up a lot of free or super-cheap clothes from there that now seem to dominate my wardrobe. I used to do a lot of thrifting, but I haven't done much in awhile. As far as shoes go, I'm a total sucker for cowboy boots or boots in general, but lately it's too hot (here in New Orleans it's been in the high-80s almost all the time lately), so I usually wear the same pair of fake-Vans that I got from Target.
i wear whatever is clean... i use to be about the whole buying whatever makes me happy clothes $80 pants and such.... but over time i realized i prefer just plain ol clothes... i dont need nothin special to be happy... hell just having clothes is good enough for me.. i guess i kinda sit in the hippish catagory of clothin... lots of tye dye.. some patchwork.... hoodies... sandals... my most expensive thing i own.... hmm... probably either my Rasta Etnies or my patchwork pants...
People call me a hippie, so I guess that's my style, eventhough I wear some punkish things too. I buy whatever I think is cool and on sale or really cheap. I usually look for things that are really different. I just hate seeing 10 other people wearing the same thing I am. Plus I make some of my clothes. I pride myself in my under $20.00 outfits. The most expensive thing I have right now are a $20 pair of levis and I paid for half of them with a gift certificate. I'm really, really cheap.
"style" - something that changes every day coulours is the main thing i go for, though - always looking for some new, bright (preferably uv-active) item probably nothing i own is worth more than ~40€ (except those pairs of converse shoes...) if looking through my wardrobe, one would probably find ...various jeans ..."combat" pants ...sarongs ...some skirts for the summer ...and loadsa tops in/from different colours/materials (ahh i once bought this pink furry....bra-like thing in london...lol...), everything from neon green to silver or hemp ...and i'm some sort of hat fetishist, too...some of my favourite possessions include the "festival hat" (bright orange & red tye-dye!), "pimp hat", french beret and an absolutely nuts-looking army-style cap which i decorated with a leningrad cowboys pin
I make pretty much everything I wear. It's mostly patchwork. We have a bunch of (purchased @ shows) batik t-shirts I wear once in a while too. Mostly, though, I wear patchy dresses, skirts, bloomers, "baby-doll" style tops, etc. I used to wear a lot of my own backless tops and stuff as well, but gained a lot of weight with an illness a few years ago, so I've inda shied away from that. I find myself (with my bf's urging) leaning more and more towards a more modest, "prarie" style of clothing. He digs the way I look in a long apron. Is that wierd? As far as the cost, like I said, I make it all. The nicest thing I've got is an outfit I would've sold for $125-150. The most expensive thing we've ever made was a men's wedding outfit, worth about $650. Of course, when we were almost done, his dad (who said he'd buy it) decided he thought a patchy wedding outfit was blasfemous so we ended up giving it to him for $420, cuz we love the guy and we knew how much he wanted to wear it. It looked awesome!
My daily uniform is bluejeans and stretchy v-neck tshirts. sometimes I'll wear a long skirt with my tshirt. v-neck because I'm breastfeeding, and need access to the flaps on my nursing bras, stretchy because I absolutely refuse to shop in the "womens" department or "plus sizes" when all of me is a size 12 except my boobs. Most expensive item of clothing would be shoes, I have a pair of birkenstocks and a pair of danskos that DH gave me for my birthday, but I think my NewBalance sneakers may have cost more than those did.
If I'm around the house I just slum it in jeans & strappy tops, out of the house I guess I'd be called a hippie. Most expensive thing? A pair of sandal type things that cost £30, $55 I think. I mostly make my own clothes and bought threads tend to last for years too.
