Is pretty amazing, but I still want to know what nuclear powerplant Doyle Dykes was born on. And Chet... I'm assuming there isn't a nuclear powerplant in Luttrell, Tennessee. Who is your favorite fingerstyle guitarist? Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Bruce Cockburn, Doyle Dykes, Muriel Anderson, and Laurence Juber, Brian Setzer, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mwFA56dKP8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7QriGZBV0s
Yeah... Doyle is the only guy I've seen that does that. He hosts a really great clinic, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u-BnyYTlRc - While My Guitar Gently Weeps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_pX2iwsYWw Also check out Merle Travis, Andrew York, Pierre Bensusan, Leo Kottke, and Alex De Grassi.
John5 was showing how to do it in GuitarWorld a while back...those two are the only ones I've seen do it.
Don Ross is my favorite for sure. Actually, you can sample some of his stuff from his new album 'Music For Vacuuming' at www.gobyfish.com . Its worth it, it will change your life.
So I'm not the only one who bends notes by pushing behind the nut... only difference is he kicks ass at git-box and I don't.
I just found out that I'm going to go see Tommy Emmanuel this weekend at a festival called CityStages. Also gonna see the Allman Bros, Derek Trucks Band, and Oteil and the Peacemakers....and Snoop Dogg.
Yeah, he has his own festival here (Tommyfest)... he usually stays here for three days or so. He has alotta friends that live around here. He even came in this guitar shop I worked at briefly and had a guitar worked on, once.
