misogynistic bastard. wake up and LISTEN. Emily Remler Sister Rosetta Tharpe (who broke ground and blended sounds) Etta Baker Wallis Bird Hell, it's cock rock that left the feminine in the dust, but with bands like the Kitties, the sistas will do it for themsleves.
nancy wilson gets my vote as well, not many people can play the bass that hard and sing at the same time
No one said Jennifer Batten!? OH YOU SILLY SILLY SILLY PEOPLE!! Watch: http://youtube.com/watch?v=LZBuzbe9xCo&search=jennifer batten
Jennif..... Oh? Nevermind, already been mentioned.. lol Now, don't forget this piece, "Flight Of The Bumblebee", was composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and is originally a classical piece. Jennifer Batten has merely played it the way it is supposed to be played, only on the guitar. That is not any more "wanking" than Niccolo Paganini's 24 Caprices, or Frederic Chopin's Etudes Opus 10(for instance) is. Speaking of classical music, there is a Japanese classical guitar player by the name of Kaori Muraji. She is also quite exceptional.
To the comment about women not being able to play guitar, I challenge you to a guitar dual! Why? Because I'm pretty sure I'll win. I've been playing for 8 years and I am an obsessive person so please, entertain me.
ummm to the ass that said that girls and guitars don't mix: i'd like to know what makes you think that. for every great guy guitar player, there is an amazing woman playing guitar just as well that goes unrecognized because assholes like you won't pay attention to music made by anything that doesn't have a dick my vote goes to joyce cooling. i saw her at the local jazz festival a few weeks ago and she blew me away.
Amen. Another fantastic female guitar player is Shannon Curfman, who just kicked some major ass on the album that she cut when she was 14!!
That was some pretty intense flamenco! I quite enjoyed it, not just her set but all the performances.
