I grew out dreads twice, cut em first time for court and jail, second time for job, cut it all off man, go bald or crew cut.
if your lookin like jim morrison i'd keep the long hair cuz that was one sexy man. i like dreads to though so guess that leads us to its up to you man.
How funny is that ,ther is a guy from Estonia ,Latvia and I'm from Lithuania and we are all on this thread. As for thge hair thing it's up to you man. I personally want to get dreads ,but my hair is still too short , but then again you get all kinds of trouble here with skinheads just 'cause you have dreads...
long dreads ,and very big curly hair is great!(whether it's long or not).I've had long hair for the biggest part of my life and I'm not very keen on it anymore..
I love all you youth, but, , , , There is no such thing as 'dreading' your hair. That is why they call them "natty" dreads. "natty" stands for natural. If it is not natural it is not "natty dreadlocks" When someone 'dreads' their hair (by doing something or another) they are really 'freding' their hair. It is not the same as dreads, and anybody who really knows will know the difference. Of course if you fred your hair it will grow into dreads eventually (3-5 years), but if you do nothing to your hair it will dread in that amount of time, too. Dreadlocks is the end result of a certain amount of faith and patience. They are fully formed and consistant and done with uncertainty as to their direction. They are natural and organic, and awe inspiring in their untamed and asymetrical beauty. Only the real McCoy causes that type of feeling in the observer. The transitional phases are honorable, in that they pay tribute to the natty dread, but they are not as sexy as the whole enchilada.
To each their own: i say everyone can do what they want to their own hair; But mine is long not dreaded... when i do get a dread (ie camping etc) The damn thing irritates me like a toothache. so no dreads omn my head.
