Okay is this song not the grooviest of all hendrix songs, especially the bass riff.. its ace! Anyway.. back to dancing around my room ;P

I think Gloria is a Van Morrison song that Jimi covered but I'm not sure. Anyway if Jimi's other cover songs are anything to go by, I'll bet its much better than the original...

btw, do you mean Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix cd cuz I have that one and there is no 2nd disc

Yeah, "Gloria" is a Van Morrison song that Hendrix must have played live. By the way, virtually every '60s band played "Gloria" at one time or another.

 

It's on "The Essential Jimi Hendrix Volumes One And Two" and I think the box set to.

And I heard this album is pretty rare.

HA.....I got the doors live version.... I was sure that it was the original.....

 

I've only heard the Doors' version, but I knew it was a cover of Van Morrison. Didn't the Doors put some twists in the lyrics?

 

I don't know... I have the Doors version on vinyl, but I haven't listened to it forever. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some changes, though.
