I've heard of cases like that, but I think it's more like spotting that's very similar to a period. You can't actually have your period while pregnant because your period is the beginning/end of your monthly cycle where your uterus sheds its lining and the unfertilized egg. If the egg is fertilized, it shouldn't be flushed out. So...it is possible to have what seems to be a normal cycle and be pregnant, but extremely unlikely. Especially if you are on the pill. I'm sure if you asked this question in the parenting or woman's issues forum, you could get some good educational answers, lol. Maggie Sugar could probably tell you a lot more than anyone in Love and Sex.

Well, somebody posted a similar question a while back in another area. My ex-wife had bleeding after she became pregnant-it was pretty much continuous. The doctors told us that any bleeding during pregnancy is abnormal (I also read up a lot on the subject, this is true) and as long as the bleeding was occurring that a miscarriage was likely. They told her that strict bed rest was all she could do about it, until the bleeding went away, which it didn't-it persisted for weeks. I read in some old medical books about a lot of research that had been done that showed that natural Vitamin E is very imortant in preventing miscarriages and stillbirths. That, in fact, is how the vitamin was discovered in the first place. I asked the doctors about that, and they told me that was bs, and the medical community didn't believe that anymore. I got Natural Vitamin E for her at the health food store (the synthetic kind doesn't work for this purpose) and also Vitamin K, which the book also recommended. Within 2 hours after I gave her the first dose, her bleeding completely stopped (it had been continuous for maybe 6 weeks), it never came back, and she had a completely normal pregnancy after that, her symptoms never returning. She took the Vit E & K every day until the bottle was empty, 400-800 IU of the Vit E each day. The doctors were flabbergasted, as they have no clue anymore about nutritional solutions to anything, with few exceptions. Kinky Ramona is right, there is no such thing as having your period when you're pregnant. All bleeding during pregnancy is abnormal.
