it's kinda rich, ain't it? - trillions were spent fighting Soviet ideology.
Vietnam was a defining stamp on the 1960's.
I still think Lennon was right (as opposed to Lenin.)
"But you know it's gonna be -all right!"
(even if innocuous little Cuba is still a threat (?) to national security.)
Meanwhile Corpo-piggies oink in ecstasy over the fantasy of a few hundred million Chinese "middle class" one day consuming like Americans....
What -energy source - does one suppose will turbo-charge the tens of thousands of highrise and skyscraper elevators of Shanghai's future?
(and will there be anyone left alive in that city? - they'd best super-skydome the thing to keep the air from killing all but the cockroaches.)
These are the best-laid plans of the mice, but what about the men?
The men - are too busy supplying cheap trinkets at bargain prices to Wal*Mart.
    Hell.
Best import a new breed of wooly Chimpanzees to Antarctic free trade zones, and pay them with artificial Franken-frozen banana yogurt!
Does one not wonder why no-one ever thought of exploiting cheap starving labor in Africa? As desperate as they are (lord knows) - the white corpos will durst not let a starving black into the party. (three guesses as to the reasons why and the first five don't count.)
To the corporate mind, the cost of labor is looked upon somewhat the same way a biologist looks askance at BSE, SARS, Bird flu, or any other viral toxin.
But for that distasteful fact of life, shareholders could all revel in quivering ecstasies of intercepted wealth.
The world over, dictators gloat and plan and rub their fat fingers at the prospect of undercutting even China's communo-capitalist workforce. What a weird morphed concept. Stranger than processed "cheese" food.
100 years ago exactly Jack London was writing about a "yellow peril."
Even he had no idea what would hatch a century later.
Sailor Jack went to London (England) and carroused with the people of the abyss - in the very heartland of the British Empire at its apex...how ironic.
I suspect he'd have a fine time in LA right about now.
Modern politics? Altogether a jolly madman's distraction.
Meanwhile the little folk (that T.E Lawrence mused upon) still get buffeted around like clothesline socks in the teeth of a Katrina.......

The corporate mind moves in cycles. it eats and destroys.
