Playing An Instrument While High

I love playing guitar when I'm baked, you can play as fast or slow as you want really. I used to think I couldn't play guitar that well when baked, but once you go for it, it feels awesome and I can play just as good as sober. Only thing is I can structure my music better when I'm sober.

But I deffenitly think what it really does is make you more confident in your creative mind and you go with what you feel more, without your other side of your brain like "Wait, is that gunna sound good?". When you're high your brain is like "Whatever man, if it feels and sounds good then go with it."

Though I can be like that when sober, but it just feels really good when high, hehe.

 

Shit, the band and I get high before playing gigs sometimes, and at practice. It's just a lot more fun.

Gigs are fucking hilarious! Setting up the stuff around all the sober do-gooders and all that.. just great. Playing with a buzz is majorly awesome.

Getting high before practice sorta ruined my band,and the heat!On a stoned day We would get stoned,tune up,jam for like 30 mins,then go eat,then go to my room and play halo while pounding some beers.I don't think it was that we didn't want to play,it's just my garage gets SO DAMN HOT when were in there!(especially in summertime)Everybody would be soaked after a few songs.

A sober day of band practice lasted hours!You can stand the heat better when your sober IMO.

 

Yeah man, that can really suck when you're drentched in sweat and stuff. Makes it hard to play. But I don't really see much of a difference when I'm high in terms of how hot and sweaty I get and stuff. Then again I haven't really jammed in a really really really hot room...yet ...

 

My garage door is like metal or somethin',so on a sunny day standing behind that garage door can really suck!!!My bass amp is on that side so I had to deal with it.I can't even walk 5ft into my garage anymore,it's so cluttered with shit.So there hasn't been any jamming in there for like a year & a half.I miss being in a band,it's fun!

 

i play bass, and I really like playing while stoned.
the problem is, if I'm TOO stoned, the nly thing that comes out is a real SHIT.
but if I'm still in decent conditions, I get into the groove and rock fuckin good

 

I play bass among other instruments and I find that I'm fuckin amazing at it when I'm high. No bassline is too complicated and the fingers on my right hand move so fast that all I can see is a blur... also I feel none of the pain I would usually feel after playing for a prolonged period of time.

 

i guess it depends whether you are in the creative mood weed gives you or the hyper one or lazy mood or just the focused mood in which you play good cuz u are so into it. Its probably depending on the atmosphere and what type of bud you smoked

 

Yeah i'll go with that.. probably has a lot to do with the setting and your mood..

I play bass and i find im able to play better sober, or so it seems that way. Sometimes trying to keep time can be hard stoned, but i ask some people about it and they say it's fine...i dont know, it takes more concentration to play stoned.

I know what you mean about finger pain too. my arms feel really weak when i play high.

 

Seems like you experience the opposite of me. I pretty much become the beat when we play. It's a very cool feeling. I play bass for the band.

 

ive found teh hardest thing to keep is beat. but i think it depends what instrument you play. if youre meant to form the beat, youll be the beat, if youre meant to form the melody, youll form the melody, theyre the grooves youll fit into, ie, teh ones where youre instrument is primary

I get stoned, and then I pick up my guitar and I start creating some of the most mind-blowingly weird riffs. I even record some of them, so maybe I can one day make a band built off of this principle. If any of you understand this, then I'm not completely out of my mind when I'm stoned...
