good point! many gurus won't even accept you as a disciple if you don't have lots of money so it takes money to get a good guru so you can learn about about god
Could you clarify what you mean by 'spiritual over-consumption'? Do you mean too much of God is a bad thing?
Yes I was wondering whether i was being clear, I guess not, when I said overconsumption is bad, i was talking about things like food, drinks etc.. material things that get addictive- like cigarrettes or beer etc, all these things need to be avoided because they hinder spiritual growth.. they ruin us physically and they are not good for us mentally because they ruin our judgement. I was not talking on an abstract level. However, now you have brought the question up, lets discuss it!. Is it really bad to think about God too much? Well, in one way yes (krishna calls this lying to Him) and in another way, no. If you abandon your primary duties and only think of him when you are needed somewhere else then yes, that is against God and although you are thinking of God, it is bad for you because you are abandoning your dharma and that is not fair for you nor is it fair for the people who depend on you. In bhagavad Gita, Arjuna wanted to go into the forest and meditate and not follow his kshatriya Dharma , Krishna did not support it, it was not fair for him, nor for his brothers, nor for the establishment of dharma for the welfare of all later on. However, if you think of God always and do your duty while thinking of him, and surrender your results to his lotus feet and live your life through selfless action, then no, it is not bad for you at all and it becomes a path of liberation for your soul, for it to move on to God.
whats your problem, do you have to twist everything? or is just the way you are, you just act dumb, is that it?
Of course not. And actually, I think that it is only even a possibility if you do your best to fulfil whatever duties you have. It's all a question of balance.
Many saints and mystics would disagree with you. If the attention is just allowed to dwell on worldly things all the time, there is no space left for God.
Here in england there is a saying - 'bollocks for brains'. I think there's often a certain wisdom and appropriateness to such utterances.
