but besides that, my joke. when they ask, the only thing i can think of is

iraq is like texas. everyone carries guns, and no one can speak english

i think its funny and i laugh and that is all that matters, but in all honesty, the schools here teach english, so anyone who made it to junior high knows a basic form of english. for the civilians that go to college, they speak a brittish dialect. interesting if you ask me
