OMG what a week, this just caps it all off......

anyways, everyone knows about my family issue with a death in the family.......

I come home from work rather late, had to drive a coworker home, and I go into the bathroom, hear an alarm going off........ I leave the bathroom, dont hear it anymore, so I thought, okay........ I dont know where this is coming from....... change my shirt, yadda yadda, do some other things, go back into the bathroom, hear it again........... then I check my phone...... and I think, something is not right....... so I go outside and I hear the alarm louder and a flickering light from the apartment adjacent to me, on the bottom floor........ I see the end table next to the couch is on fire (luckily the window was left open). I call 911, tell them there is a fire....... people upstairs come out....... they had no clue there was a fire....... and they were right above that apt...... there were two small kids upstairs too. just what if........ what if, I came home later after work?? or came home early, and had my tv goin, or my radio goin, etc?? I wouldnt have heard that alarm goin off...... it wasnt really loud from my apt..... I could just barely hear it.

well, anyways, thats my story for tonite. what a week. I had to sit outside for an hour while the fire crew went through that apt. no one was in there...... the guy that lives there had his power turned off for 2 weeks, and aparently he was burning a candle, and left.......... there was a cat in that apt too, I wonder if it could have had a hand in it........

 

what kind of loser goes without power on purpose?

 

Sometimes you have to chose between eating and having light. It just works out that way.

Anyway...candles and cats do not mix alone. Even having the window open, the wind may have knocked it over.


Good thing you saw it Madcrap, don't drive yourself crazy with "what if"s....they all got out and that is the main thing.

 

I would have called after it burned down.
