    Stupid...Well, perhaps. In the area I live, about 10 years ago, an old man died who was living in a skid row type of motel. When the police entered his room, they found about $2.5 million worth of stock cirtificates stuffed in shoe boxes.
    The man in the article was living in "Spartan Conditions", but had at least $37,000 cash on hand to flush down the toilet.

    I have a feeling there is some sort of mental issues involved. The article didn't mention anything about a wife, or anyone with any sort of regular contact with him. The onset of Altzeimers maybe...?
