I had the same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago! I had Leane with me at the store and the cashier and I were talking about babies and how she was trying for another one.....then asked how far along i was! I laughed and told her that I still hadn't lost the last 30 lbs of my baby weight and that I was never wearing that sweater again! Then she goes on talking about how she gained a whole 6 pounds when she was pregnant (she was a skinny thing) and didn't show one bit....and people actually think that's a good thing!!!!
Tea, every time I was pregnant, people would comment "You must have quints in there." Or "Are you sure you don't have twins?" or made comments that "You are ALL baby!" (As if My belly seemed to start under my chin and seemed to go down to my ankles....... )I am barely 5 ft tall, and weighed less than 100 lbs, like Drum did, before I got pregnant with my first baby. I got BIG! Ignore these people. Your belly looks lovely. Too many people just don't know what a healthy pregnant womyn looks like. You look great. LOL! Thank you, that made my day. A year pregnant. (Yep, after about 18 weeks, you have about an cm a week. Pretty handy thing.) Well, you did have two babies in there.
this also means if you gain 20 lbs and the babe is compact and in the bones rather than playing outside, if your MW/ doc have said it's Ok, it probably is. Some women don't gain much on baby 1.
Don't feel bad honey, you should have heard the remarks that I got when I was pregnant with my twins. At first, when strangers thought I was pregnant with just one baby, they'd say "oh my goodness, you look like you're going to pop any second, you shouldn't be out and about!" but then when I told them I was carrying twins, they were like "but oh my goodness, you're so tiny!" I hated it. Then of course, after they learned it was twins, I had to get bombarded with the horror stories of so-and-so who had twins and what hell it was. Don't let it get to you. Some people just don't know the right things to say to pregnant women! {{{Hugs}}}
"You'll do great" "You're doing great" "You look beautiful" "You're positively glowing" etc. THESE are the right things to say to a pregnant momma. Like, what, you think my life isn't stressful enough already? lol... (((((Hugs, beautiful glowing pregnant mama!)))))
More twin mommies! Woot! My girls are 8 months, and I was HUGE too. I think your belly is gorgeous, and you don't even have stretchmarks! Poo on the haters, you look beautiful!
