Not all hippies think alike. I don't even believe there is a credo that can be said of all. I have certainly met my share of loving, thoughtful, earth-friendly people. I have also seen a number of greedy, jealous, selfish hippies. I've known hippies who have spread social disease with indifference to consequences. I've met hippies who have also performed some of the most selfless acts. Me? I live by the Golden Rule most of the times. In general, if I have been offended in public I let the offending person known of his transgression. If he has no intention of amending the condition I simply ignore that person in the future. I try not to be vengeful. Oh, and by the by... the Brady Bunch was NOT a hippie family. They may look all flower power and all, but any child who takes side based on sex and says things like, "I think I'm going to give those boys a taste of their own medicine," is not a candidate for hippiedom.
It's pretty much like everyones life, but you have to throw a flask of patchouli into a crowd beforehand.
How about the partridge family? Anyway, hippy is just a word, a title given to people who stand up for their beliefs and enjoy the peaceful ways and the simple things in life. I have a friend with long hair who likes to smoke weed, and he keeps calling himself a hippy. Stereotyping himself, only he is overly aggressive, extremely materialistic, and wants to cause harm to have of the things he sees. No respect for nature, life or himself. Not a stereotypical hippy. Like I said, it is just a word, the true definition comes from within you. Live how you feel you should, try and do the right thing, and help a brother (and a sister) out.
HIPPIES are people that were all groovy and protested back in the '60s. HIPPYS are 12 year olds who buy flared jeans at the GAP.
We listen to the 'Dead' all the time, smoke a lot of illegal substances and live of our parents money. And that are only the basics.
You know that hippies like to send naked photographs of themselves to random people? And you know that I am random?
oh, well now that i found out I'm a hippie I guess I should do that then ;-p. i see i've much to learn.
You are very lucky you found a true and honest hippie teacher in me. So.... where are the photographs?
I agree along the lines with Duncan and HippyLandscaper. One thing I would like to mention is most hippies more than likely would not suport "The Gap" most would probably rather go too Good Will as most dont suport large corparations. One thing too always keep in mind too is that even us hippies are not perfect, no human is, but we do try our best too be fair with other people, too help keep our earth clean and too basically live a peaceful simple life.
Hi Jennasia, thats cool. You can find some really good items in there. I once found a 265.00 suit for 9.95. I know this because someone left the price tag on it. Now I just walk around in cheap sweats or shorts.:sunglasse
Yeah i find great stuff. You really have to dig for 'em cuz most of the good stuff now go to vintage stores that jack up the price. But when I do find good stuff it's quite a find for me
