Don't blame the band - blame Trey - typical type A personality ego maniac who is ending it so he can have his own band where its all trey, all the time. personally, i'd love to see the rest of the band pick up a new guitar player and vocalist and say you know what trey - we'll be just fine without you.
Hey man, chill out, at least you got to see one of their shows. And I had tickets for last summer and everything, dad wouldn't let me go. His reason was, there'll be plenty of Phish concerts in the future. I really did cry when I heard they were saying bye to all of us phish concert virgins!

Nah, they'll get back together someday, I'm sure. I mean, they'll get all nostalgic and by that time we'll be all grown up and totally able to go see them. MoonFlower, Phish is just too deep for you, you have to digest their music. I didn't like it when I first heard it, but it grows on you until you can't get enough.
i will agree i don't like *all* of their studio stuff.. but, i bet she is right that you cant truely digest it and havent given it a REAL chance...
yeah, it sucks, but i doubt i wouldve seen any of their shows anyway. it sucks but the only phish ive ever heard was their downloaded stuff, so it wont make much difference either way.
phish has some songs that i can really connect with, and mean a lot to me... call it deep or oh so cool hippyish, but thats not the esscence of the music... just titles and representations..
Everyone, Phish really is amazing. Its like someone else said already, u do have to digest their music...but when u get it and hear and digest, one can become quickly obsessed. Oh man and their concerts, I only wish there were more!!!!! Its not even just the concert itself, its the whole enviroment. Oh man.. I give 5 yrs 10 at the most for them to get together again for another tour. Its like i truly cannot see anything topping the rush they get from performing together as PHISH. And Nothing trey will do outside of phish will feed his ego. Phish will be back... one day somehow
personally, the only interest I would have in seeing them play would be with another guitar player and vocalist. Great band, saw them a good 70 times, but the only reason they are calling it quits is because of Trey's desire to do his own thing where it can be all Trey, all the time. I met the guy a few times and he's a complete ass, so this doesn't suprise me at all.
The show I went to I didn't evern get to see cuz I got my freakin eye like half poked out cause someone threw a glow-stick the wrong way! lol But I left like 20 minutes early anyway so basically missed the best part but no traffic anyways.
