Hey there, thanks for taking a moment to read my thread.
Me and my cousin are going to start growing soon. While we have never grown anything before, we are both considerably bright young men, so I dont think it is beyond reason to start with a fairly complex grow.. While I do know the universal truth "Simpler = Better" in our situation tho, I dont think there will be anything simple about it.

Heres our problem. We both still live at a home (since its *&%$ing expensive to move out, and id rather save my money) and there are several other people to live/stay here.
We have no Attic, no Basement, no place outside, no empty closets.
We have only 1 place where we could possibly grow, and thats my room.
But again, other people living here, and this thing needs to be descreet as possible.

After thinking about where to grow for litteraly months, I came up with probably the only place I could possibly grow. Its doable, but its not gunna be that easy.

Currently in my room, I am storing alot of stuff. Just random things in boxes.
I had the idea to hide my grow setup, in plain sight. just yesterday, I reorganized my room completely, and I went ahead and set up part ofthe grow area.

The idea is, Keep the entire grow inside of boxes. (or atleast use boxes to obstruct the view)

I already have a big empty TV Box (its about 3x3x3) which I have put into the boxes. I am going to add a little more room to it, by cutting open the top, and then securing some more boxes on top of it which had thier bottoms cut out. So when you see it, it looks like a couple big boxes, but in reality, they are just one big box.

At this time, we are still trying to figure out how much room we can get away with... By my estimations, we MIGHT beable to pull off as much as 3 x 4 feet at the base and maybe about 5 feet high, for just the main growing area, BUT.... I dont think i want to go that big. I was hoping for maybe more like 3 by 3 by 4? I donno. something like that.... Going a little taller is alot easier than going wider in our particular setup.

Consider tho, that area would just be for the main growing area, if using hydro, I could put the resivoir inside another box right next to it. So, anything I can keep in a seperate box, I should do so, to maximize the growing area.

The main problems are this then.

Can I grow in a completely enclosed enviroment?
Will there be too much heat?
How should I deal with the smell?
Will it make alot of noise?

Me and my cousin are currently debating wether or not to use Soil or Hydro.

I could see where Hydro might give us some extra room in the growing area, but could be more expensive, time consuming and complicated (we are both first timers here, but are willing to try anything)
We would also rather pick a method, invest in it, and buy some good equipment off the start.

In a situation like this, where it has to be quite, not smell, and be completely enclosed, what type of setup would you recomend?

In an area of about 3 foot by 3 foot, how many plants would you expect us to beable to grow?
Any recomendations about specificly what type of lighting to use?

also, under the same conditions as mensioned, how much room to clones need to grow?
Should we split up the grow area for part of it for clones, and the other part for flowering plants?

Also, big question, how am I going to deal with heat?

I was considering the smell and heat thing, and thought about a solution, maybe it will work, maybe not, tell me your input.

I would have both the heat from the lamp, and then the smell from the plants be sucked out via tubes (which I know is common), the smell would first be filtered once or twice before entering the "main tube" which would then take all the excess heat and air, and empty it under my couch (which is close enough to the boxes to run a big tube to, without anyone being able to see it.
So i figure, if it all empties out there, it could all disipate fairly well.

and well, I think thats about all I had to say about it.... I was also gunna go to my local Hydroponics store later and ask thier oppinion as well. So thanks alot for all your input.

oh yeah, And I heard that extra CO2 can help the growing conditions if it gets really hot. You think this will help? or is the cost not worth the benifit?

what are u going to do about the noise your ventilation setup makes?? this can be done as I grew 3 plants that same way when i was in my Mom's home, thing is that smell wasent an issue. I used fluro's to keep the heat down and had a little oscilating fan in the box for airflow. You are going to have noise coming from ur boxes, such as the fan(gotta have it), will ur parents notice?? It can be done but i think u should wait or grow outdoors.
