has anyone ever noticed

the similarities between the words, "philadelphia" and "paedophilia"?

 

I get them confused all the times. What with my philly cheesesteak hotpockets and the pedophile...hands in pockets...

It's a regional spelling difference.

paedophilia is a pretty common spelling outside the US. Of course, I think death lives in the US meaning he probably went to public school.

actually, i know both ways to spell it. If i was actually gonna use it in a regular sentence, i would say, Pedophilia". But the extra "a" in the worldly spelling makes it look a little bit more similar in my opinion.

 

I don't see it as much of a smiliarity myself. I can understand how others do. Just don't quite put two and two together on that one.

 

at first glance for like 0.1 seconds, i bet you cant tell which word was just flashed at you.

 

in a 1/10 of a second, probably not. given 1/2 to a full second, most likely I could.

 

actially youd be surprised how short of a time you need to see something to recognize it.
