do the different colors have any purpose?

    do the different colors of poppy pods imply any variation in quality of the pods? such as age, rott, etc.
    iv seen the colors range from brown, to white, to yellow, to purple.

    Well, there are at least over 100 different species of Papaver Somniferum. They come in a bunch of different colors, so Im sure some are more potent than others. I've only made tea with brown and purple colored pods, and I have to say brown was the best, strongest, and least nausea. The purple however, made quite a few people pretty sick, I didnt notice too much of a differance but others did.
