google censors i've noticed a steady decline in the amt of useful info i'm getting back when i do google searches
Tried Vivisimo? www.vivisimo.com here's the mozilla integration link - Vivisimo's integration technology is called "Clusty". http://clusty.com/toolbar/firefox also, see: https://addons.mozilla.org/search-engines.php
okie dokie, i tried out the clusty thing. didnt like the toolbar, took up too much space but i'm liking the right click integration. reminds me of some other search engine that i used to use a long time ago
okie dokie, there's another one called http://www.ithaki.net/ with search plugins for firefox i was just checking out the developer's blog and she's been censored by google too. http://ithakisearchengine.blogspot.com/ ethically i like it, the only downside is that it's a bit slow
Jeez, Google's almost perfect shit...I've even demanded Sprint hand over my recorded tele conversations. If there's something you're looking for, in particular, drop me a line. Since everything's recorded nowadays, we can slip by via crappy e-mail. kthx.
yeah, i just cant use a search engine that censors. doesnt work for me. i'm so dependant on google, though, it's hard to give it up.
i know! i use gmail all the time. :& (mutters under breath about targeted ads) i think it's important to get uncensored web searches though.
Please read this post http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=453479&postcount=4 then take a look at ithaki's robots.txt file (a file used to allow or block search engines) Here's there robots.txt file http://ithaki.net/robots.txt Google is not blocking them. They just need to alter their robots.txt file There's been a lot of 'google paranoia' lately, and most of it stems from a lack of understanding of the technology behind google.
I would suggest Clusty. I recently switched to it because not only doesn't it censor, it also avows that it does not collect data on the searches of users which Google has also been recently exposed for doing. Clusty also has some nice cateogry features for every search to help you refine your results with just a mouse click. download free here: http://clusty.com/ I also replaced the Google toolbar with the one from Clusty and it works a charm (popup blocker included). Good luck!
